Hi, I’m Matias :)
I’m a 23-year-old young man from Denmark and currently studying a BA in education science in Copenhagen. I’m passionate about how people think and learn, especially in cultures that are different from my own, which is one of the reasons I joined Workaway. I want to experience everyday life somewhere new, learn something different, and hopefully share something useful in return.
I’ve worked in hospitality for over 4 years and have also volunteered as a football coach for a youth team which started my interest in volunteer work. These experiences taught me a lot about working with people and handling responsibilities during challenging moments.
I’ve lived in Denmark, Sweden, Spain, and Argentina and each place has made me more curious about how people live and learn around the world.
Outside of work and studies, I enjoy sports, playing music, and learning languages.
This is my first time using Workaway, so I’m still new to it all. But I’ve heard great things and am excited to contribute where I can, meet kind people, and learn along the way.

I see language as a great way to connect with others and understand different ways of thinking. It also relates closely to my studies in Education Science, where I focus on how people learn. I speak Danish and English fluently and have an intermediate level of Spanish as well as a beginner level of German. I’m really interested in learning new languages myself, and I enjoy both teaching others and gaining new perspectives through language.

Teaching and learning: I'm studying a BA in Education Science with a focus on how people learn and grow and I'm especially interested in education and learning across cultures.
Hospitality: 4+ years of experience with service, cleaning, organizing, and working in busy environments.
Working with kids/coaching: Volunteer experience as a youth football coach, creating fun and structured activities for kids to learn.
Music: I play guitar, piano and enjoy playing music with others.
