Ich bin gerade

Beschreibung

I’m a 33 years old woman from Valencia (Spain), living in Barcelona and working as a school language teacher since 7 years ago. Before moving here, I studied art history and music, and had some international experiences (I worked in London, I enjoyed an Erasmus internship in Krakow (Poland), and I helped with the development of a self-sufficient eco village in France). This last one really helped me to discover how much I love observing plants, working with them, and being more aware of the ways we consume and produce the resources we need for a living.

That last experience took me to enroll with some local urban gardens to try and contribute to the difficult task of making cities greener and more livable places. Living in the city has gave me a lot of opportunities to connect with a varied amount of people, of being part of musical projects, going regulary to art exhibitions, concerts and film projections (one of my main passions).

Since a couple of years, I have been doing and learning pottery and I participated in a Raku workshop that my japanese teacher organised which was a very inspiring discovery for me. And since last september, I started playing in a gamelan orquestra here in Barcelona. Now we are planning to spend the summer in Indonesia learning more from local musicians, and I'm very excited about this plans.

Despite all the good things and opportunities that the city has offered me, sometimes I find myself dreaming about starting a project in nature. Also, when I talk with my (urban) friends about those ideas, I find out that (luckily!) there seems to be such a growing feeling among them as well. I would like to keep learning and geting to know people who actually live closer to nature so then I can have more knowledge and experience before I seriously consider to start a project outside of the city.
