Beschreibung
We are Marie and James, from Germany and the UK, aged 19 and 23. We met whilst travelling in Australia last year and have enjoyed every moment since! Whilst in Australia we tried our hands at many things from hospitality to milking cows however, during Marie's final months in Australia she stayed with a workaway family for 6 weeks in Northern Queensland that she loved so much we have been inspired to complete one together before we move to Germany to begin studying next year.
We are both outgoing people, welcoming of new experiences and enjoy learning from the people around us. We are always happy to try our hand at anything that comes our way and give it our best shot. When looking back on our travels so far, our favourite memories are often about the people we have met along way and we hope to make more interesting friends!

Was könntest du arbeiten?
James:
I have developed a well rounded array of skills. In the past I have spent a couple of years working in kitchens learning how to prepare tasty food and drinks. I have then studied marketing at university which has enabled me to become good with technology. As a child I was always out riding my bike and starting projects with my friends. This has led me to be quite handy which mechanical elements and fixing things. When I was in Australia, I also worked on a dairy farm, caring for farm animals and understanding their needs. I am very hands on and always keen to get stuck in!
Marie:
Back home I have been working as a babysitter looking after a 8 year old boy and a 5 year old girl. This is how I discovered that I enjoy working with people, especially children. After I finished highschool, I went to Australia for a gap year. During my time in Australia I had multiple jobs. I started off working as a bartender and kitchen hand. After enjoying this for 6 months, I decided to travel north for a workaway in remote Queensland. Whilst there my work revolved around helping the property recover from the recent devestating floods in the area. This meant gardening, grounds maintenence and even building a carport. I had a really good time there and had a great relationship with my hosts. Now that I have returned home, I am working as a volunteer caregiver to gain experience for my studies in medicine, which I will be starting next year.

We both love sport and spending time in nature. We like to run and go for hikes. James is a big football fan and follows Arsenal in the premier league. Despite our energetic sides, you can often find Marie writing in her journal or James reading a book.
Whilst in Canada we are really excited to take on the winter and challenges it brings. We'd love to try some winter sports like skiing and appreciate whatever the area has to offer!
