Beschreibung

I am Mahdi, a 22 year old student at the Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. I grew up in Iran until the age of nine, lived in turkey for five years(with my parents) before moving to New Zealand where I have lived for eight years; and currently I am on a year long exchange at Groningen in Netherlands.
Moving around lots growing up has given me the privilege of experiencing and being a part of multiple cultures as well as a need to always explore and move. So I would like to make most of the summer holiday that I have between my two exchange semesters to explore and make most of this beautiful continent.
I am inspired greatly by mystery and curiosity, whether it be through learning and delving into some area of skill/knowledge, through connections with people or through exploring the world physically. This is why traveling is extremely meaningful to me.
I am also on the lookout for a location in Europe where I could potentially move to in future for study or work after my bachelors, so I am eager to try to have a closer look than just the scenic spots; and try to get a taste of the culture, the way of life, and the communities of each place I visit.
My hobbies are reading/podcasts, gyming/kickboxing, physics and math (my studies), philosophizing, playing guitar, meditation, socialising and learning about other people's stories/passions/perspectives, hiking and outdoors.

I am interested in learning some more dutch (since I will be doing another semester of exchange after summer in Netherlands). I can teach Persian, English and Turkish ( however Turkish a bit less, can hold conversations in it but couldn't tell you any of the grammar rules ).

Was könntest du arbeiten?

- I have experience in working in an italian-fastfood restaurant for half a yearwhere I cooked a wide range of recipes (pasta, burgers, etc), cleaned the kitchen and sometimes managed the front of the house.
- I have worked in a cafe for a year and know how to make coffee and a range of drinks.
- I have done fundraising for a half year (in my gap year) for charities, which was a roaming job which meant I had to move city to city every week with my team. A very socially demanding job through which I learned some salesmanship skills.
- I have worked as a tutor in my University teaching a few computer science courses (first and second year).
- I am doing a bachelors in computer science, physics and math so if anyone is interested I can provide expertise/guidance in those fields.
- I also speak Persian, English, and Turkish so I can help you with those too. Although my Turkish is slightly rusty due to little use for last years.

In overall, I am a quick learner and open to happily learn anything that is required of me. I don't mind getting my hands dirty, working physically/socially/mentally demanding jobs, and getting out of my comfort zone.

Was noch ...

I mentioned most my hobbies in the description, however some more include:
board games (risk, diplomacy, catan, so on) whenever it is available.
I love exploring such as going to new cafes, restaurants, new alleyways and parts of the city, new routes in nature and so on.
I am passionate about self expression through fashion, music, and other ways. So I enjoy going to vintage and second hand shops.
I like anything to do with water: snorkeling, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, so on.
I am also quite passionate about music, such as exploring other people's tastes, going to live music and gigs.
And I love traveling of course!
