Hi friends! I am a life-long learner, knowledge seeker, and creator. I love anything creative - art, writing, dancing, yoga, music, cooking, you name it - everything is creation! I love nature so much, and I want to spend as much time outside as I can. I'm always open to learning and trying new things - I have picked up many different hobbies over time, some of which include art, hiking, and writing. I am a passionate and curious person, and I want to learn as much as I can about the world around me and gain new insights and perspectives from those who are different from me. I'm curious to learn about and experience different cultures, beliefs and ways of living. I am in constant pursuit of personal growth, self-discovery, and self-love, and I am excited to continue that journey by pushing myself out of my comfort zone, experiencing new things, and forming connections with people all over the world!

I am very physically active, and would be happy to help with any physical labor around the house or outdoors (painting, gardening, cleaning, etc.). While I don't have a fur baby of my own, I have lots of experience taking care of animals. Some of my favorite pastimes are taking care of my roommate's cat while she's away, and nurturing all my lovely house plants! I have a creative eye, and can help with artistic projects and decorating.

I have a very creative mind - I'm always coming up with new ideas and anticipating the needs of those around me. I'm super crafty and have a knack for DIY projects. I'm a great painter and artist. I have experience using tools to build furniture and complete other basic household construction projects. I'm a good cook as well, and it's something I love to do! I know a lot about the English language and proper grammar. I am extremely proficient in reading and writing, and I have experience writing informative articles and educational papers, as well as more creative writing projects. I am proficient in many computer programs - creating spreadsheets, organizing information, etc. I have taken care of many plants, animals, and children over the years. I have tons of experience working in customer service as well, which has helped me develop excellent people skills and communication skills. I'm an extremely quick learner with a positive attitude and an adaptable nature. I'm a natural leader, and I can work well both with a team and independently.

I am more than happy to work and spend time with my host family, but it is also important to me to be able to explore and spend time alone to work on reading, writing, art projects, etc. I'm pretty independent, but I do love to connect and converse with people! I love to spend time outside, and I love to swim as well!

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Help with our organic fruit ...)

I stayed with Andrew and his family for 3 weeks, and I had the most wonderful time! Andrew and Siobhan are such kind and welcoming people, and their (adult) kids are amazing as well! I had so much fun hanging out with them, going to jazz shows, having delicious meals together (they are all wonderful cooks), and cracking jokes. Thomas, Anna, and… read more Leah are all beautiful people, and it was a pleasure to get to know them. I truly felt like part of the family while I was there.

I worked in the garden, mostly weeding and watering the beds, sometimes on my own, and sometimes with Andrew. I also helped Andrew film some informational videos about gardening, which we had lots of fun with. Andrew always provided clear instructions for what needed to be done when I was on my own, and he was always available when I had questions. I loved working alongside him, though, because we had great conversations and laughed a lot. Andrew is so funny, wise, and hardworking. I learned so much from him during my stay, both about gardening and about life. Andrew has a treasure trove of information about gardening, and to say he has a green thumb is an understatement. I loved collecting fresh veggies from the garden for my meals, which were always hearty and full of nourishment. After eating a fresh strawberry from Andrew's garden, you'll never want to eat a store-bought strawberry again!

The accommodation was so wonderful. I stayed in a cozy cabin equipped with a bathroom and kitchen. Siobhan kindly stocked the fridge for me before I arrived, and continued to make sure I had everything I needed throughout my stay. When it was rainy and cold, I warmed up by the fireplace in the cabin, or had a hot sauna in their gorgeous outdoor sauna.

It's extremely easy to reach Sligo town by train, and Andrew and Siobhan were always willing to drop me at the train station. They go into Sligo town often, so they would coordinate with me to drive me into town as well. Sligo is an adorable town, with fun pubs to go to and lots of live music. The nature in Sligo is unbelievable, too. I hiked a stunning mountain called Benbulbin, went surfing, and did the "hotbox sauna" at the beach, where you take turns sitting in the sauna and jumping into the ocean. I highly recommend the sauna, it was one of my favorite experiences during my stay!

I could go on and on about my experience, but to wrap it up, I would highly recommend staying with Andrew and his family. They made my time in Ireland so full of joy and laughter. I can't thank you all enough for such a lovely experience. I miss you guys already, and hope to see you again someday!!

I stayed with Julianne and James for two weeks, and I had a wonderful time! They were both so welcoming and kind right away, and they made me feel comfortable in their home. Their children, Teddy, Imogen, and Jasper are full of life and fun, and not to mention - adorable!
