Hi!
I am the proud and happy mom in a wonderful family of 6, and from May 2022 to May 2023 we are taking a year off our daily lives to travel and discover the world around us! :)

I have always loved travelling and stepping out of my comfort zone, learning new things and languages, and that is a love I want to pass to my 4 kids now aged between 8 and 16 years old. I had this 'crazy' travel gap year idea about 7 years ago, and once I got my husband and kids on board (not that hard ;) ) we have devoted a lot of time and energy to plan for this and here we are now, it's time to go!

Everyone in the family, even the younger ones, would absolutely love to take part in a workaway project somewhere around the world; we all have a lot of skills that could be useful in different areas of work and if we lack in skill, we'll make up in enthusiastm and hard work! :)

I used to be an English as a second language teacher, I am fluent in French (my first language), I would say I am intermediate in Spanish and I would love to learn more, as well as Portuguese and Russian (I'm more of a beginner for those)I looooooooove languages, would love to learn even new ones I and always appreciate practicing :) My husband and kids are also bilingual (French/English)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We are an artistically inclined family: I am quite skilled in culinary arts and I design/craft for a lot of family projects, our oldest daughter is into visual arts, our oldest son is a very gifted musician (piano, drums, guitar...), etc.

Both my husband and I have a bachelor's degree in teaching; me in English as a second language, and him in Physical Education, but he currently works in sales and I am a stay-at-home mom/part-time cake decorator.

We also love sports, and back in 2015 I started a rugby Club in our little hometown. My husband and I are also fairly handy as we built our own house back in 2010.

All 6 of us are very open to various types of work and we all have a good set of physical as well as intellectual or artistic skills.

Was noch ...

As a family (especially me), we loooooooove Halloween! Every year I come up with a concept for a family costume and I spend months planning it, finding random pieces and putting them together and it usually turns out awesome!

I have a lot of creativity and I mostly express it through these costume concepts, but also through cake decorating (I even do 'chocolate paintings'), and gastronomy (I often host parties for up to 16 friends at a time where I cook a 5-course gourmet meal - I love to experiment with food, as much with the flavours as with the presentation).

In this family we love board games, and especially card games :) But mostly we just like to be with people! We have been couchsurfing hosts for many years as well and meeting people from all over the world is such a joy!
