Hi there!

We are Maarten-Bas and Leonore from the Netherlands, both 30 years old.
We are happy, hardworking, slightly philosphical and enthusiastic people with a lot of different interests, skills, stories and good energy to share but also learn from you and the other volunteers.
Three years ago we build our own wooden tiny house, including all the electrics and other systems, without much experience and really loved the process. Maarten liked it so much that he started a company helping others build their own small, sustainable house.
Since 2 years we live in a tiny house community with 10 others houses in Rotterdam which is completely focused on off grid sustainable living. We have a solar power Electrical system, rain water collection and purifying system, composting toilet and a large communal garden based on permaculture.

Leonore works as Treasury consultant, an interesting job but life is about more than just sitting in the office! In the future she wants to open a sustainable hostel somewhere in Europe so is also keen on seeing the operations of a hostel in more detail.

We love being outside in nature and outdoor sports, so combining this and helping people out in their hostel/farm/school or the like is the perfect combination!
We're also very interested in products/techniques (such as renewable energy) that make the world a more sustainable place and preserving nature so any eco-project would definitely be suitable for us as well.

At the moment we are touring through India and Nepal on a motorcycle, and would love to combine the travelling with an interesting workaway. During previous trips we have done workaways in Chile, Argentina, Peru and Australia so we know this always adds something special to our trips.
