We are looking to get to know France better with a view to living there permanently in the future.

Beschreibung

We are currently fully booked for our stay in France this year.

Steve and I met at salsa classes 14 years ago and we even went cycling in Cuba for our honeymoon.
I grow our vegetables organically using the No-Dig method. Two allotments provide me with lots of garden waste to compost and fallen trees provide us with wood chips for paths etc. I also have a greenhouse where I can grow grapes and a cutting garden for flowers.

I did grape picking in France many times when I was younger. I lived in Perpignan and Bordeaux before I trained to be a teacher and taught French for over 20 years. I try to keep my French up but nothing is as good as being there. We have friends to visit in Brittany and Paris but would like to explore other areas.

I rekindled my love of sewing during lockdown and, as well as my bike, will take my sewing machine with me whenever possible.

I practise yoga, enjoy cycling and going to the gym. I am a very active 67.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We live on a small farm in South Leicestershire where Steve was born. He has years of experience of running and maintaining the 30 acres plus managing the 20 odd herd of cows. He is good with large vehicles, tractors, diggers etc. He was a gardener for several years before coming to the farm full-time. He’s practically minded and can usually find a solution to most problems. Recently he built a small forge from pretty much what was lying around the farm yard. He is a keen cyclist.

I had no experience of farm life until I met Steve although I have always been a keen gardener so was happy to embrace it. I now manage the two large allotments that provide us with most of our vegetables over the year. I am a retired French teacher and Education consultant and we are looking for a way to explore France while putting our skills to good use and, of course, learning new ones.
