Beschreibung

Hey Workaway hosts :) I am Lorena and I come from an inland little village in the northwest of Spain, in a region called Galicia. I am currently living in France, working as a spanish teacher. For the next year, I am taking a bit of time off to figure out the "what next" in my life, and I think travelling and volunteering in different areas, as well as meeting new people would help.

When I was a child I wasn't a big fan of languages and cultures per se. My parents couldn't afford to travel to far-away places so we used to go on vacation to the nearest Galician coast villages, which was great fun.

But by the age of 15, encouraged by my mum, I participated in my first exchange program in Ireland, and something clicked inside me. Since then, I take every chance that I have to embark in new adventures.

Some of the adjectives that best describe me are: caring, open-minded and respectful of others, sympathetic, sociable, funny, talkative, adventurous, food and dog lover, and a long etc. (I am not going to spoil all the fun, right? )

I want to experience Workaway because I have heard from some friends that it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Also, I think it's a great way to experience other cultures and meet people from all over the world, and all of that while helping people :) Is there anything better?

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have always been passionate about people ,languages, psychology, so I just love to get to know new human beings and share our life experiences with each other. In my opinion, everybody has an amazing and unique story to tell.
So I would identify that as a social connection skill :)

Also, teaching Spanish at university allowed me to improve my teaching and communicative skills, as well as my understanding of others, because you deal with many different personalities and ideas in a daily basis, and you need to be an open-minded person in order to maintain a good atmosphere in the class .
