about Linah

I visited an English-German bilingual high school. Since I'm from Switzerland I also learned French in school, but I'm not as fluent. I'm also learning Korean at the moment and I am able to have basic conversations, but there's still a looong way to go.
After finishing high school, I went on a 6-month trip to Korea, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, Bali, New Zealand, Australia, and Iceland.
Sadly, COVID cancelled a lot of my travel plans, but in the summer of 2021, I had the chance to go on a six-week road trip through Scandinavia. I then started my studies in the field of nutrition.

After finishing school, I took on a 4-year training to become an electrician. After working in that field for about a year, I completed my obligatory military service as a medic soldier. I then decided to go on a new path to become a teacher.
Since my parents are originally from a farming family in Sri Lanka, I spent some of my summer breaks there, helping wherever I could.


We had our first workaway experience on a fruit farm in Hawaii and want to continue traveling in a way that also gives back to local communities.

Growing up in Switzerland, I came into contact with different languages throughout my entire school career.My mother tongues are Swiss German and German. I started learning French in 4th grade and have been learning for over 9 years, but actually haven't spoken since finishing school. I went to a German-English bilingual high school and consider myself fluent. I started learning Korean for fun and went to a Korean school in Seoul for 8 weeks, but am far from being fluent.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Linah:
Though I'm small, I consider myself very fit and strong. I take great pleasure in moving my body daily by either doing yoga, going for a run, working out at the gym, or going on extended walks in nature.
Whenever I set my mind to do something, I have a strong will and good endurance to complete the task. Working hard feels rewarding and makes me proud.
I'm very organized with the right amount of spontaneity. I love educating myself and taking care of my body and soul.

Linah:
Giving other people food is my #1 love language. I'm a pretty good cook and love to create meals that are both nourishing and tasty.
I'm a yoga teacher and am studying nutrition and dietetics, which basically allows me to turn both of my hobbies into a job.
