Beschreibung
Hello people !
I'm Chang Yu Chi from Taiwan, call me both Chi or Lily (nickname) would be fine : )
I graduated from Media and Communication bachelor degree in 2017, now working as a film editor for a Taiwanese company.
I'm planning to take on a vacation to India and Nepal on August and September, 2024.
I'm a very experienced Workawayer, so far around twelve have been done.
SMALL THINGS ABOUT ME
1. I'm interested in spirituality, meditation, yoga, psychedelics, psychology, traveling, hiking, body movements, literature, art, movies, philosophy, etc.
2. Books, Yoga and writing especially save my soul.
3. When it comes to food, seafood and vegetables and cheese make me happy.
4. I think I'll be the slowest eater you have ever met in your life.
5. I love the idea of slow-living ( thus the slow-eating )
6. Sometimes I love to dance in the pub, especially with techno music it'll be in paradise.
7. I value who I'm staying with more than where I'm staying.
8. I prefer having deep conversations with people more than visiting tourist sites when traveling.
9. I hope to achieve some kind of minimalism in the future.
10. My dream job would be a digital nomad.
11. I'm still confused with what to do with my life, but at the same time I'm not confused with how my life should be, I hope that make sense :p
How I started Workaway
In 2015, I started my first Workaway experience in Australia for 40 days : Charity cafe and gardening maintenance. It was a short experience but it was inspiring, because it made me realised that I barely knew anything about life and world and people, I couldn't keep living the way it was, I had to explore, and took on some adventure.
In 2019, nearly 2 years after I graduated, I determined to spend another year traveling by Workaway, mainly to Alaska, British, and Italy. I've finally got to see the world - even just a tiny part of it - it didn't disappoint. I spent at least a month or two in each place, by the end of the year I've done seven workaways. I met countless people from all over the world, the relationship with hosts and other workawayers were so pure and beautiful that each departure always teared me up, it was my best traveling decision ever.
If you're interested in what details I've done in previous workaway, here is the brief description below:
In Alaska, I learned how to live a self-sufficient life and survive under extreme environment with a Native American family ; I had done some physical tasks such as wood chopping, snow shaveling, cooking, water storing, RV and caravan cleaning. Then I traveled south to meet a musician, we slept in a camping bus without running water and electricity, the temperature was under -10 Celsius, I had to quickly learn how to build fire, which was a skill I never had in Taiwan (never below zero! ). Alaska was in all aspect a big challenge, but hey, I have conquered it!
During my stay in Welsh and Scotland, I had done lots of house renovation, such as painting, scrapping, brushing, hammering and nailing. Also, as my profession is film editing, I once helped a Yoga teacher to film his three-days-teaching workshop, and edited the whole course.
As for Italy, at first I was growing vegetables for a farming family, sometimes we would drive to the mountain and sell vegetables on the market.
My 2019 trip ended in Venice where I worked for a hostel, with other workawayers everything was chaotic and fun, we built the house (I was actually lifting bricks and mixing the concrete, etc), tried to buy construction materials here and there (again I had to speak broken Italian to the clerks ) ,cleaned the hostel and cooked together.
Workaway is a perfect way to discover and experience other people's life, and from time to time, you gain new inspiration and different perspectives to look at your own life, to examine your ideals and thoughts, and to create a better version of yourself.
If not for people from Alaska I wouldn't gain wisdom about spirituality and universe and Mother Nature; if not for yoga master in Scotland, I wouldn't bring myself back to yoga mattress and keep practicing without doubts ; I wouldn't know what it means to live a slow pace life ; I wouldn't know life can be in many different shapes as long as you dedicate your time to shape it into the form you love. I am nothing therefore I can become anything.
As for the reasons above, I'm always excited to create new traveling chapters, because I know deeply in my heart that the next time, me and whoever you are, our encounter will be amazing as always.Interessengebiete

Was könntest du arbeiten?
1. Film editing, some basic photography and videography.
2. Painting : It's a new skill gained through workaway in UK, I think it would be quit useful for people who need their house to be renovated! I'm also very fond of art decorating so if you have an empty wall waiting to be painted and designed PLEASE let me.
3. Animal care : I grown up with two cats and two dogs. Used to take care of chickens in Alaska for two months.
4. Gardening : can't say I will be able to make decisions independently but I've followed the instructions through workaway before.Alter

Despite they couldn't be able to host me as a workawayer, Amrit invited me to film a yoga teacher training program which was a really really unique experience for me. I learned a lot of knowledge through the course, and met lots of wonderful people.
