Beschreibung

We are Rindert and Lieke, a couple from the Netherlands, currently living in Bakkes, our self-built home on wheels.

First of all, let us tell you why we are on Workaway. We want to meet people who've decided to take the step out of the 'rat race' and are finding a different style of living. More connected to (the pace of) nature and more connected to their surroundings. Workaway, as it showed us before, is the perfect way of finding those people, learning from them and contributing to their projects.

We would one day love to have our own piece of land, possibly in community, to live in connection with nature, to garden according the principles of permaculture, to build our own house, to create our own paradise. And we would love to get inspired by and learn from people who are building theirs.

Let us tell you a little bit more about what makes us happy!

Together with Bakkes, our van, we are enjoying the outdoor life. Being in nature, hiking, camping, rock-climbing, surfing, or just sitting and enjoying. We definetely love to be in nature, to learn about edible mushrooms and plants and to make fire and cook on it!

Rindert:
As a child I grew up in a renovation of a farm, helping with different things. I have been creating many things since I was a child, everything around the theme of craftmanship. I'm always open to learn new skills and teach others some of mine. I'm a freelancer in campervan building and carpentry.
Oh and not to be left unmentioned: I love and live Reggae music.

Lieke:
For the last 4 years I've been mainly travelling, connecting and working with nature and meeting people who've chosen different paths in life. I've founded and organise a co-creative community festival, based on the values of Play, Co-creation and Connection. I would call myself idealistic and feel very motivated to help changing our society into one that's supporting similar values.
Next to that I love to teach Yoga, love to read books, to play music, to sing and to do acro-yoga.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Rindert's experience:
- Background as Industrial Design Engineer: designing products from idea to production (mostly lighting design)
- building treehouses for a couple of months in a professional team
- working professionaly as a campervan builder ánd building our own campervan
- usage of a big variety of powertools
- knowledge and experience in carpentry and wooden construction building

Lieke's experience:
- teaching Yoga (Yin and Hatha)
- organising my "own" co-creative festival and retreats
- gardening in different permaculture projects/communities
- building skills (building our own campervan and some experience in building wooden constructions)
- giving workshops in foraging (medicinal) plants
- taking care of elderly and disabled people for 8 years
