Hello~

We are Lea and Franzi, two open-minded and animal-loving friends who are passionate about making new experiences and learning about different cultures. Both of us came to Korea with a working holiday visa and after getting to know each other in our first month here, we decided to do workaway together. We both love animals, especially cats, and enjoy cooking or going to cute cafes together. Another thing we have in common is the desire to experience life in Korea like locals instead of only viewing the country from a tourist perspective.

About Lea:
I am a 21 year old Austrian girl and after finishing my bachelor’s degree in Korean Studies last July, I decided to do work and travel in South Korea for one year. I am a communicative and empathetic person who is passionate about learning languages and loves traveling, cooking, reading and drawing (although I’m not good at it yet). During my time here, I want to deepen my understanding of Korean culture and improve my language skills. I also hope to broaden my horizon by trying many new things and meeting new people. I believe that through connecting with people who live differently and have a different view of the world, I can learn a lot about myself as a person and how I want to contribute to society in the future. Concerning work experience, I did babysitting and therefore have some experience working with kids. I also worked in a bakery, where I sold bread and prepared drinks, learning a lot about customer service and communication. Although my work experience is limited, I am very motivated to learn new skills and would describe myself as a diligent worker who adapts quickly.

About Franzi:
I am a 19 year old girl from Germany and after graduating from high school, I decided to take a gap year in order to see new places, meet new people and make unforgettable memories before starting my studies at university. I chose Korea because I’m very interested in its culture and language. For me as a person, I really love reading, baking as well as playing the violin and I enjoy taking pictures of my panda plushie Herbert at various places. I could be described as a kind, reliable and organized person. As giving back to society is important to me, I organize events for kids in my hometown. I also volunteer at the local wrestling club where I do organizational work such as preparing and selling sandwiches as well as drinks at tournaments and I am responsible for online advertising. As for work experience, I worked in a local gardening store for about 4 years, selling vegetables and fruits. Furthermore, I grew up in a family that has their own gardening business and therefore also have a lot of experience with agricultural work. As a workawayer, I want to broaden my perspective by trying different kinds of work and making new friends around the world :)

Both of us can speak English fluently. Lea has basic knowledge of Korean, while Franzi is a beginner. We are both beginners at Spanish, and Lea can speak French (lower intermediate), and some Japanese (beginner) as well as Dutch (beginner). As you can see, we are both passionate about learning new languages. We both speak German as well (our native language). We could teach English and German and would love to be taught Korean!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Lea:
I can speak multiple languages (English (advanced), Korean, French (lower intermediate), Spanish, Dutch, Japanese (beginner), German (native speaker)) and could teach English and German. I can also cook and bake and have experience working with kids (through babysitting) and customer service (selling bread in a bakery). I am also very motivated to learn new skills!

Franzi:
Because I grew up in a gardening household, I have lots of experience with agricultural work. Moreover, I have good physical strength because I wrestle. I’m also quite good at organizational work and I can bake and play the violin. Furthermore, through my job at a gardening shop, I have experience with customer service.

Was noch ...

We both enjoy playing card games, such as Uno or Ligretto and love listening to music. Lea played guitar and piano in the past and is interested in photography. Franzi loves hiking. At home, we both have cats and we enjoy playing and cuddling with them ^^
