am Lauren, and for over 15 years, I have been living and working overseas, mostly in Asia, and what really drives me is a passion for social justice and a love for exploring new places. Traveling lets me dive into different cultures and learn about the social issues people face, which inspires me to do my part in fighting injustices. Nature is my happy place—being in the mountains, hiking, and exploring always makes me feel alive. I’m also really into music, and I never miss a chance for some karaoke fun. On top of that, I’ve been training in Muay Thai for over three years in Thailand and Cambodia, and it’s become a huge part of my life. I’m always open to trying new things, and I thrive in all kinds of environments. Meeting new people and sharing experiences across cultures is what makes life exciting for me.

I have been studying Spanish online with a tutor for 2 years and came to Medellin to study intensively at school for 3 weeks. I then hope I can more actively engage in workaway projects and continue to improve my Spanish. I was an English teacher for a number of years and have tutored students, in person and online. I am a passionate and creative teacher, excited to support students to reach their learning goals.
