Hello 😊
My name is Kimberley, and my daughter Sofia and I are excited about our next volunteering adventure. Thank you for taking the time to check out our profile - we can’t wait to connect with you!
I was born in Zimbabwe, raised in the UK, and now live in Spain with my 2-year-old daughter. I grew up in the hospitality industry and have a deep passion for helping people learn. Sofia shares my enthusiasm for discovering new things; she loves animals, painting, and playing at the beach. I’m experienced in working with children and young adults, and I have a natural ability to connect with a wide range of audiences. In my free time, I enjoy being creative and going horse riding! Both Sofia and I are passionate about travel - my goal is to write, explore the world, inspire Sofia through diverse experiences, help others and make a positive impact along the way. 💜
WORK EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS
* Hospitality Management: I worked my way up from receptionist to Hotel General Manager for IHG Hotels, earning the Hotel of the Year Award (EMEA) in 2012.
* Learning & Development: I traveled on some of the world's largest cruise lines as an L&D Manager, training crew and officers across 80 different nationalities.
* Sales Enablement: I created learning solutions for salespeople in a fast-paced hospitality-tech company.
* Entrepreneurship: I’m currently building my own company to help diverse young people around the world accelerate into the workplace.

WORKAWAY VOLUNTEERING EXPERIENCE
1. Youth Education Project, Udaipur, India (4 weeks):
I taught at an after-school youth centre for underprivileged children in the village, focusing on essential life skills, English, sports, yoga, and meditation.
2. Teaching in a Tibetan Monastery, Darjeeling, India (4 weeks):
I assisted in a school where children lacked access to public education, teaching Math, General Knowledge, Morals, and Computer Skills. The children left a lasting impression on me, and I learned so much from their Buddhist way of life.
3. Content Writing & Marketing, Canggu, Bali (6 months):
As Assistant Editor for Yogi Times Magazine, I worked on content marketing, editing, and social media. Our collaboration was so successful that I was invited back to help build Yogi Times University.
4. Women's Shelter, Nepal (3 days):
I conducted cooking classes and provided business education to empower women who had been trafficked, helping them build skills for a better future.
5. Hope Children’s Orphanage, Canggu, Bali (6 months):
I organized fundraising efforts to build a new roof for the orphanage and provided school supplies. I also volunteered weekly to play and interact with the children.
6. Village Visit, Siem Reap, Cambodia:
I hosted English games and classes, provided school supplies, and gained a deep understanding of Cambodian village life.
7. Volunteer Careers Enterprise Advisor, UK (current)
I partner with mainstream schools and guide children from diverse backgrounds to choose the next best step for their career.
