Hi! I'm Katharina and I want to be rich someday.
But not with money as you may think right now. That's why I quit my well-paid office job a while ago.
I want to be rich with memories of places I've been to, things I've done and people I met along the way. I want to live and not just exist.
So here I am looking for people to teach me, learn from me and explore a part of life together with.
And I can't wait to meet you:)

Right now I am on my Working Holiday Visa in Australia. I would love to do some Workaways while I'm here since I think it's the best way to get to know the culture. While I would stay with you, I might also want to find some paid work on the side. Obviously I will prioritize the tasks I do for you. I am looking to do regional work to get my second year visa aswell - so if you're located in an area, that is valid for this, it would be awesome. I am a very life-loving human being, enjoy a good chat and to discuss all different sorts of topics. I am very open-minded and like getting to know different points of view. Though I do enjoy chatting a lot and am quite bubbly at times, I also need my downtime and space. A good mix between both is ideal to me.
I don't really do any sports but going for daily walks is essential to me, especially along a beautiful coastline (and if I get the chance, with an adorable dog at my side🐕). I enjoy listening to music and going out to see some good live music. I like cooking and I used to bake quite a lot as well when I still had a flat. Overall I would say I'm an easy-going, positive and motivated young woman with a big love for the simple things in life such as the smell of summer rain and the glittering sun on the sea.
And I'd love to stay with you, help you out, be part of your life for a bit and create some great memories here in Down Under!🌏🦘

Was könntest du arbeiten?
I have worked at a bakery when I went to school, did some internships at a hotel, did my traineeship in an office for 2 and a half years and afterwards worked as an assistant for almost 2 years.
Recently I also worked at the reception of a hotel for 8 months.
I'm good at organizing thanks to my former job as an assistant. Also since I have lived alone for quite some time I'm good at keeping everything clean. I'm very good at working independently and my former bosses always told me that I am a very quick learner and also that I have a fast and reliable way of working. I love the interaction with customers and would say that I am quite empathetic.
I've done a few Workaways - some childcare, housework and a bit of gardening. I enjoy picking up new skills at every new Workaway and am a quick learner too.

I am a very open-minded person and always interested in learning new things. Even if I don't have experiences in some areas doesn't mean I'm not good at learning it. Just give me a chance to:)

Vom Workawayer (Katharina) für Host (Come and help a busy, ...)

You should not come here if you are looking for a family that will not make you feel welcome from the first second, not make you feel as part of the family immediately, not show you all there is to see around the area and not be great fun.
However, if you wanna meet the most kindest, amazingly open-minded, little bit "mayhem" but super easy-going… read more and loving family, you are looking at the right profile right now. The minute I stepped into the house and Jennie immediately hugging me, I knew I would have a great time here.
And I did. Let it be baking pretty much every day with Stan and Rosie (if you are a nice Workawayer, I bet they will teach you the recipe for the best brownies you ever tasted and the famous cookies of course;)), singing my heart out with Stan in the kitchen, spinning around in circles with Rosie in the sitting room, beating Tom in Boxing every time or walking an infinite amount of miles with the cutest dog you'll ever meet. I'm gonna miss Jennie randomly starting singing and dancing in the kitchen, hearing Rosie play the Piano every time she passes by it or Stan running up and down the corridor, feeling way less smart than an almost 12-year old child named Tom, Alan singing "Rosie" on weekend mornings in the kitchen and Dougal jumping up on me at least 10 times a day. And I could go on with the list forever here, but I'm not gonna give it all away, you have to make your own experience;)
I spent Christmas with the family and they made me feel part of the family and I did not feel left out for a second even over those days.
But I'm also gonna miss the area. You have to know that I've been with the family during the 5km Lockdown. So I did not get to see much of the beautiful country or even county. But I can tell you - Wicklow Town is probably the best possible location to go through a 5km Lockdown. The Cliff Walk, the Lighthouse Walk and also the Golf Course are basically right in front of you. And if you walk a bit further (approx. 30 minutes) you'll reach the Black Castle Ruin, the harbour and the best cafe in town - The Good Life. And then there's the seafront which got me hypnotized and made me loose track of time. You can go to the secret garden and there's a stunning beach within the 5km aswell. I probably will never be able to pronounce it but I call it the Surfer Beach and Jennie will bring you to it anyway. In general, she will bring you to every spot there is to see within this beautiful town or county once Lockdown is over.

As for "work", my tasks were to hoover the house every day, to keep the kitchen as clean as possible and help the kids with their homework. And when it comes to childminding, the kids are super easy-to-mind. You can take it from me as I had no experience with children whatsoever before I came to Wicklow. Most of the time they occupy themselves with stuff and the rest of the time you'll find it very easy to entertain them.

I know I had a completely different experience than all the other Workawayers due to the restrictions. But I had the best time and I have a second family now, a safe haven in this amazing country. And I cannot say how much that means to me. Not only did I fall in love with Wicklow, I fell in love with the Family and you guys will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you for everything! I'll see you all again.
