Liz felt in love with a little place and I (Jonah) keep traveling trough Kanada. I‘m near Quebec City for the next few weeks and would like to continue my trip to the east cost. I‘m looking for hosts

Beschreibung

We are two best friends who just graduated from high school. Just a few months after we met at the age of ten, we made loose plans to do a gap year together after finishing school. Now, eight years later, we find ourselves with the opportunity to finally realize these plans. In 2022, we participated in an Erasmus exchange program where we had the opportunity to visit Greece for a week and quickly enjoyed traveling together.

As happy as we are to finally finish school after twelve years, we’re also a bit overwhelmed with the decisions we’ll have to make next. We have the privilege of being able to choose between an incredible number of paths and would therefore like to get to know other perspectives and ways of life.

We can offer flexibility and engagement as well as great interest in learning something new. We’d especially love to work outside with animals or in a garden since we don’t get to do that as often in the city. We both have a bit of experience with childcare from internships, little siblings and cousins, babysitting and “Take Your Child to Work Day”. We both love cooking, but we can not guarantee that it tastes as much as we enjoy doing it and are therefore open to new recipes and techniques ;). In general, getting to know people and learning about differences and similarities in cultures and their history is a big motivation for us and we would love to get together and exchange stories or share meals. We are always ready to help a friend move or renovate a place and are not afraid of heavy work.


Here are a few facts about us individually:

Liz:
I have always known that I am more on the artistic side and while I am interested in science and history, art and music, as well as literature have always been easier for me. I love drawing and would like to do it more again after school, as well as learning new art mediums. I would enjoy learning about living with animals since I have just a little experience with dog and cat sitting. As for my very manageable work experience, I had an internship at an art gallery and currently work as a babysitter. Since I started living in a shared apartment, I even like doing housekeeping - especially cooking :).


Jonah:
Hi, I'm Jonah. I've always been the sporty type, even though I've always been open to anything else. I have been doing athletics quite intensively for 10 years and would like to stay active as a runner during our trip and can also pass on some of my “coaching skills”. I am very interested in getting to know new things, new cultures and preferably you as people. I have some experience in gardening, but I'm sure I can still learn a lot, especially if we ever end up on a farm. I had a really fun internship in a kindergarten, where I also realized how great it is to work with children. I love cooking and it often tastes okay. My English is probably not quite as good as Liz', but we won't have to communicate with our hands and feet ;D.

Besides the skills and hobbies we described above, we both are almost done with our high school diploma and are about to graduate. We learned the basics of French in school and would love to improve our language skills. We are generally very flexible and open for different kinds of work and tasks.
