I'm John.
I am a very curious person, and I love experiencing new things, meeting new people, and generally interacting with the world.
I'm not the most interesting person you'll ever meet, but I won't be a waste of time workawayer either. I will do the work required of me and in return will be glad of some time and space to work on finishing my book, to do some observational experiments on the local wildlife, and to hang out with you and share my experiences as best I can.
I would love to do something physical for work, and am a good cook, very happy to get busy in the garden, and quite the handyman when it comes to fixing things too.
I hope to learn something with you, and maybe I can help share something I've learned in my life too. Either way, it'd be great to just share some existence and experience.
I can speak English natively, Spanish and French pretty well, and portuguese too.
I've spent time travelling all over the world, doing stupid and memorable things, and have lived in Spain, France and the UK.
In terms of work: I'm happy to get stuck into whatever. I like to do things, not to do the same soul-sucking corporate thing every single day. Being outside is great, but if you have work that needs to be done indoors too, I won't complain.
I've worked as a cleaner, a tutor, a tour guide, a data engineer, a caterer, a writer and I've done workaways in India, Australia and France (x2).
I have a degree in Genetics, I've published a book about travels in the far east, a paper in a scientific journal about scorpion behaviour, and some of my football cards are in the National Football Museum of England (lol).
There's always more to every person as I'm sure, being a person yourself, you already know. But if you think I am possibly a good fit for your project, do let me know! I'd love to discuss it with you and take it from there.Interessengebiete
