Hello! I'm Joel and I come from a historic English town called Shrewsbury where I’ve lived most of my life.
I’m super excited to be taking a 12 month sabbatical from work as of summer 2025 and I’m looking forward to taking part in some work away experiences along the way.
I’m an outgoing person that enjoys exploring, meting new people and making memories. I spend a lot of time mountain biking which is a huge passion of mine as it allows me to see so many beautiful places I wouldn’t see otherwise, as well as it being a huge amount of fun! I’m very lucky to live in Shropshire where we have stunning landscape as well as wales right on the border, where I spend much of my time travelling in my van

Having played the drums since I was 11, music has also played a massive role in my life. Over the years I’ve played in multiple bands, mostly playing rock/punk/indie music, however my taste in music covers a wide spectrum from dance music to sea shanties and anything in between!

Being quite passionate about ethics and the environment means I have followed a vegan lifestyle for 11 years now. Having lived my life with people that don’t follow these same values means I don’t have a problem with being around others that think differently.

I’m eager to learn any new skills and get stuck in during experiences. I especially welcome work that involves being outside however I’m open to all kinds of things.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I like to keep myself relatively fit so when it comes to physical jobs I'm hard very working and keen to get stuck in getting my hands dirty.
I've spent the majority of my professional life working in customer facing roles, meaning I have good people skills and customer service experience.
Within my line of work I sometimes get the opportunity to volunteer and have spent various days helping with conservation as well as more simple but important things like litter picking.
I've had dogs for most of my life so do have experience with looking after animals and is something thoroughly enjoy.
Whilst I don't have much experience with many particular areas, I like to think I make up for it in enthusiasm and eagerness to learn, particularly anything outdoor/physical/DIY.
