Hello there, my name is Joas Priem and I am a 25-year-old guy from The Netherlands.
I have recently graduated from a Master's degree in Biology. Therefore, I have plenty of time to travel the world, discover new places and meet new people. I have always liked to visit new and exciting countries. Now I want to take this to a new level by solo travelling and combining this with Workaway.
I have recently solo travelled to the Balkans for almost a month and I really enjoyed this experience. Therefore, a few days after I got back home, I booked my flight to Georgia. I am planning to discover this beautiful country for around 6 weeks. I also want to give Armenia a visit during this time.
Now that you know why I am travelling and doing Workaway in Georgia/Armenia, I want to tell you a bit more about me. As mentioned before, I am 25 years old and I am living in The Netherlands. I have lived my whole live in village somewhere in the middle of the country. In my free time I enjoy doing sports (fitness and tennis), spending time with my friends, listening to music and playing games (together with friends). For my study in Biology, I focused on the health and disease of humans and animals. In the future I would like to positively contribute to this field and improve the health of humans and animals.
This is the first time doing Workaway, so I don't have a lot of experience with this platform. However, I have already participated in three volunteering 'holidays' before. During these volunteering weeks, I assisted in building a church in south Slovakia and helped with the restoration of a summer camp building in eastern Slovakia. I really enjoyed this and I have gained some experience in assisting in many different (basic) building/restoration tasks. I recently went back to the first location in south Slovakia for a week and helped building a fence around the property.
I am eager to learn new skills and I don't mind physically demanding or dirty labor. I am looking forward to meet new people during my trip and to learn and gain new experiences and perspectives.

I have studied Biology with a specialization in Human/animal health and disease at the university.
I speak Dutch and English on a professional level. Next to this, I can speak some German and tiny bit of French.
I have some experience in building/restoration activities that I have learned during previous volunteering 'holidays' in Slovakia. Moreover, I have some experience in teaching school courses (Math and Physics) in a one-on-one setting.
Next to this, I would describe myself as a serious person that is motivated and eager to learn new skills. I also don't mind physically-demanding or 'dirty' tasks.
