Hello there!
I´m Jil, a twenty-six year old traveller from Germany.
I grew up in Hamburg and have always enjoyed to travel around in my parent´s campervan. Traveling has always been a vital part of my life and that´s why I started studying ´International Tourism Management´. During my studies I did an internship in a hotel in the Honduran jungle, helping with front office tasks, social media and web marketing, cleaning, bar assistance, assisting with the tours (hiking, white water rafting, bike tours and horseback riding) and other tasks they needed a hand with.
After my graduation I started working in a tourism company (where I was doing project and event management), but after two years I decided to quit my job and discover Spain by doing Workaway and finally hiking the Camino del Norte, which was an incredible experience. After a half year in Spain I went home to earn money for my South America tour. I luckily quickly found a job on a cruise ship, where I was working as a scout/tour guide, taking care of the excursions on land (including preparations, selling tours, informing guests, presentations, guiding assistance, translating, follow-up work etc.). That way I got to discover a lot of European and Asian countries. Now I finally increased my travel budget to a point where I can take off to explore South America! :-)
I helped my previous workaway hosts with many different tasks, such as animal care, painting, gardening, front office tasks, cleaning, cooking etc.
Besides that I love to get creative by working with metals, wood or doing handicraft.
As you probably noticed when looking at my (many) listed interests I like outdoor activities - as hiking but also water sports, horse back riding, etc. and overall being at the sea or in the mountains.
I hope workaway helps me to gain extraordinary travel experiences and meet inspirational people that turn into friends :-)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

During my studies/job I practiced:
- project management (I'm organized, proactive and always motivated)
- social media marketing (two jobs)
- Microsoft office (I could also teach you)
- any other knowledge/ tasks regarding tourism

Besides that I love practical work. So tasks like maintenance, animal care painting, gardening, DIY-projects (I actually helped building a lot of furniture recently) etc. are always welcome!

A big Plus: I know some really good plant based recipes and love to try new things in the kitchen 🍽
