I love being in nature, trekking, running and so on. I quite like every activity that is a bit sporty and that we can do outside. Otherwise I love cooking (and eating as well) !

Beschreibung

Hi ! My name is Guilhem, i'm 25 and i've just graduated after 7 years of college and decided to go on a little adventure in South East Asia before I start to work.

I was born in a family of teachers. My father in particular taught me to love and respect nature since I was a kid. He tries to have an eco-friendly way of life and he's been living in a traditional yurt for almost 15 years. More recently he left his job to grow organic food and learn about permaculture. So, I grew up in an environment that taught me essential values such as caring for nature, animals but also humans, enjoying simple things, looking after what food I ate, being open minded etc..

However, I personnaly have to live in big cities (Lille in France, Dortmund and Münster in Germany) because of my studies. I really like it, I love being surrouded by a lots of different people, having an access to culture etc.. But I sometimes miss the contact with nature.

That's why I would like to do a workaway, in order to have the opportunity to learn new skills especially in gardening, taking care of animals and handy work such as renovating or building things. I am more gifted by soft skills. I am good with intercultural exchanges, communication and with languages (I taught french for a year in Germany in a high school and I work as an activity leader in french-german holiday camp). Oh .. and I can cook ! I would also love to learn a bit more about relaxation and meditation.

Meeting people/communities and alternative ways of life would also allow me to have a reflexion about the way we could implement a way of life more respectful of the environnment at a political scale. I studied political science in France an Germany and especially international relations and sustainable development. I've recently started to work in the field of international development for NGOs and especially the managing of environmental projects. I would therefore love to do do an workaway in a local NGO in order to discover a new way of doing development projets at a local scale.

Also about more personal things I like : I love sports, kayaking and paddling, running (a lot) and biking ; i love cooking and would love to learn more about it, i'm making music sometimes (I do piano but I'm not that good), hearing it of course ; most of all i love nature, like camping in the woods, treking ... and meeting new people. Also I lived 6 months in Dominican Republic which gave me the love for travelling.

I'm sure I'll meet wonderful people and I'm very excited about it. Hope I can bring as much as I will recieve !

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I am mainly gifted by soft skills such as intercultural exchanges and communication. I am good at teaching languages but also History and Politics. As i worked in animation with kids and teenagers i can manage a group and plan a lot of different activities.
I can cook and I love that, mainly vegetarian. I love to make pies (with vegetables or fruits), salads and some spiced meals (Dhal, Curry...). I also like to make pastry and cakes. Of course i'm able to cook crêpes !
For hard skills I'm more limited because I've nerver learned how to work with wood or to do mechanics. But I'm very motivated and interested to learn a lot of new skills.
