Dear guest family, dear host,
I am an active, creative and outgoing person. I am very sporty and I like hiking, cycling and being outside in the nature very much.
I love reading. Besides reading novels in German and English, I always use children's encyclopedias and knowledge books to build up my knowledge of foreign languages. Right now I learn French .
I love playing and being with children and have worked as an au-pair three times, twice in London and once in Princeton (USA). There I learned English which I speak fluently now. I startet learning french 3 years ago.
Besides helping different friends with their children (including twin boys) on a regular basis, I take/took care for my nieces (2) and nephews (2) especially during vacation times, as they live in Hannover or Berlin.
I am a good cook and I like to try out new recipies.
I have quite a lot of experience in gardening. I grew up helping in my fathers garden. I did a 1 year volunteering job in the beautiful garden of an elderly people care home. After this I have been helping in the community garden project "GemüseheldInnen" in Frankfurt since May 2023. We have several different garden projects. I am part of three different garden teams there, a Market garden, a Forest garden and the "Stadtfarm" - our biggest garden project with a big Market garden which is continually changing. I am a very practical person and very much like doing things with my hands. I am also very interested in wild plants and in perennial plants.
In 2022 and 2023 I spent 4 times for 2-3 weeks helping a workaway host in Villevêque, Pays de la Loire, France with her forest garden project. We have become friends and I love returning there and helping with whatever has to be done then.
This year I took a year off from the workaway exchange . My wife was ill and therefore I was needed at home.
I am very interested in getting to know new cultures, new things, different ways of living and other languages.

I am interested in learning new languages. When I learn a new language, I listen to podcasts in this language, read articles and children knowledge books to build up my understanding and the vocabulary. The best and fastest way to learn the spoken language for me, is to spend some time in the country, where it is spoken. That's how I learned English and Spanish. Besides speaking English fluently, I undeestand Spanish quite well, as I spent two months in Madrid but would need some time to find the active vocabulary as I have not used my active Spanish for at least 10 years. I have been learning French for 3 years now, which I can understand at intermediate level and I can speak quite well .

Was könntest du arbeiten?
I am a good cook. As I have been a vegetarian for some time, I know quite a few vegetarian recipies. I also know how to prepare meat and fish and can cook Gulasch with dumplings as well as an Indian curry. I am used to do all kind of household chores.
I am very practical and have a very strong practical sense. I am good at repairing things and have experience in painting the walls, the fence and a wood wagon. I also know how to change tires and break shoes of a bike.
I am also very creative, always look for solutions and have new ideas.
I am very experienced with children of almost any age beginning at around 4 month of age. I like playing, doing sports and spending time with them. I love reading books aloud to the them. I also like singing german folk songs with them, if they are interested. I usually spend a lot of the time playing outside with the children.
I also know how to take care of plants and harvest the crops, as I used to help in the garden when I grew up. I did a volunteering garden job for a year in a huge garden of an elderly home, weeding, pruning and planting. Now I grow plants on our balcony. I also have some experience in permaculture.
As an au pair I had to take care of a dog for one family, so I am experienced in this as well. As I had my own pets ( rabbits, a Guinea pig and a budgerigar) and was a big horse fan as a child, I know how to take care of animals.

I like all kind of games be it soccer, basketball, table tennis, speedminton, Kniffel, board-or card games. But the best games are the ones where nobody looses, so mostly I play without counting points or looking for the winner, just for pure fun for everyone.
I like going on any kind of adventure with the children, e.g. building huts or climbing on trees and showing them edible plants and fruits or luving creatures. I also like showing them how to prepare pancakes or helping me to prepare the batter.
