Beschreibung

Hi! We are Grazia (26) and Oliver (27). We got married last year and now want to travel around Canada for about a year.
We already travelled through Alberta, the Yukon and are currently in BC.
After travelling around during the summer and helping with gardening on several farms,

WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO STAY OVER THE WINTER, POSSIBLY FOR A COUPLE MONTHS.

***Oliver would love to help with and learn more about CARPENTRY, BUILDING and MECHANICS, Grazia would love to learn how to milk cows :D***

Some more information about the two of us: We both have a bachelors degree in social work and have worked for a christian organisation for 2,5 years before starting our travels. We are both practicing christians.

I (Grazia) have grown up on my parents organic farm in Italy for all of my childhood until I was 18 years old. For college I moved back to Germany, where my parents originally come from. I speak fluent german, italian, english and basic french.
I owned two horses for 10 years.
I have always enjoyed working with my hands. I love painting, knitting, sewing and crafting in general. In the past years I became very interested in healthy nutrition, so Oliver and I started an organic garden on a little piece of land we could use and we became very passionate about it.
I also love processing food from our garden or food we find growing wild (canning, dehydrating etc.)
After a couple years of living a "normal" german life I get more and more interested in getting back to a more simple life style like the one I grew up in.

I (Oliver) love nature and I am looking forward to great outdoor adventures in Canada :)
I don´t have much experience in intercultural exchange so far, but I am an open person and I am pretty much happy wherever I am :)
At home I spent most of my working time in the office, but I can´t wait to get away from the computer and do more practical work. I would especially like to increase my skills in carpentry (I have basic experience with different machines like chain saw ect.), beekeeping, butchering, building things, energy generation etc...
I am not at all a pro, but I successfully tried my hand at mechanics by repairing our starter engine and exhaust, learning through YouTube videos. I would love to learn more about this kind of stuff from somebody or would be willing to teach myself to fix something, if that would be useful for the person hosting us.

I am also studying electrical engineering online at the moment and want to complete all classes during the next months while work&travelling. I would like to gain practical experience in this area, if I get the chance to because so far it is just a lot of theory.
After our first experience with gardening I developed an enthusiasm about farm life.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Grazia: skills in differents kinds of handcrafting (painting, sewing, knitting), knowledge of herbal medicine, processing food from the garden, organic gardening, music (piano + basic guitar), languages (italian, german, english, basic french), outdoor activities (hiking and camping in the wilderness).

Oliver: creative writing, outdoor experience (hiking, camping), endurance runner, very open for new things :D, organic gardening, cutting videos...

Both: we both have a Bachelors degree in social Work and have been working for 2,5 years as social workers
