Hello there, I'm Gaia! 😃👋
A few years ago I decided to step out of my comfort zone and embark on a long journey far from home, an experience that fulfilled me so deeply in every aspect that led me to change the course of my life... It turned out to be the greatest decision I could have ever made!
I choose to travel slowly, more consciously and sustainably; having a deeper understanding of the people I meet and the places I go through sharing, learning and growing. I genuinely believe that when empathy meets exploration, it creates a positive impact that resonates both with local communities and travelers.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE 👩🏫:
I’m a TEFL-certified ESL teacher with a varied background in tutoring and teaching young learners.
I spent around 2 years between Vietnam and Cambodia, where I realized my deep passion for teaching and finally decided to pursue this path. In Cambodia, I both assisted teachers and taught at a remote Khmer school for almost one year. When Covid hit, I chose to stay and support the school through the challenges of distance learning's transition; until unfortunately due to complications from the second wave, I eventually had to return to my home country. Then in my country, I became a private tutor for primary and lower secondary students, coaching in various subjects, including English. After Covid, I spent nearly other 2 years in Indonesia, initially traveling and volunteering before taking up a position as an ESL teacher at a local Indonesian school (my last recent experience and job)
OTHER SKILLS AND INTERESTS 🌱🍴:
Beyond my formal teaching background, I love to immerse myself in different projects to explore new skills and learn new things. I love spending time in nature and enjoy any activity that connects me to the natural world – I find it incredibly regenerating and recharging. That’s why despite having no prior experience, I volunteered at an eco-farm and a coffee plantation last year. I really enjoyed these projects and I’m eager to have a chance to experience more in this area!
Even if little, I also have some experience in hospitality. I've worked in a café and a resort as a hostess and waitress. I enjoy meeting and interacting with people from different backgrounds, I can say I’m quite a cheerful and sociable person who likes creating a warm and friendly atmosphere!
