Beschreibung

We are Frida and Sandro from Cologne, Germany. We both quit our jobs in social work in schools to go on this big trip/adventure and escape the hustle of everyday life for some time.

We have been traveling for 6 months now. We started Balkans. When European winter got too cold we made our way to Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia where we stayed the past 4 months. To end our travels we would love to spend a few weeks in Italy. Salento is like a second home to us, one half of Sandro's family lives there.

One “half” actually means the big majority of Sandro's relatives. That’s why we love being around a community that feels like family.

We both grew up in the city and love the open mindedness and craziness of it. Still, being in nature is not comparable to the city life and we love reconnecting with our roots regularly.

While traveling we are hoping to get to know different kinds of lifestyles to maybe get some inspiration for our own lives :) While meeting new people and experiencing various cultures it's really important to us to keep open-minded. We also value tolerance and a non-discriminatory mindset in other people.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Frida: I am a trained social worker, so taking care of others comes easy to me. I especially enjoy taking care of children.
I really like being creative and develop ideas or concepts for projects/rooms/events etc.
I am not especially experienced with manual labour or construction but am eager to learn and like the physically challenging parts as well.
I practice yoga regularly but I'm no teacher - if you want to, we can practice together :)

Sandro: I have experience in cooking and taking care for a lot of people (about 90 adults and children) and really enjoy doing it. Apart from that I'm pretty handy with work around the house and DIY-projects in general. I enjoy doing manual labour a lot and I stay ambitious if something doesn't work as planned. Also I love making music electronically and collaborate with interested artists. Sadly I don't even have my Laptop with me as I am travelling with my backpack only.

Sandro produces electronic music on a professional level and would also love to teach about it.

Frida reads a lot in her free time. She loves discussing about the state of the world and exchanging ideas for how to be and do better in terms of equality. She also practices yoga regularly and is interested in deepening her spiritual practice.

We both love good food (although Sandro is the one who is great at cooking and Frida is mostly on cutting & salad duty 😄).

Although we love our comfort zone, we regularly push each other to grow and learn and are really looking forward to widen our horizons.
