Hi everyone!

My name is Floris, nice to meet you (hopefully one day in real life too). I left my home country The Netherlands in July 2023 and have been travelling in my self converted bus since :)

Beschreibung

I'd like to think of myself as an open, social, easy going guy who is happiest when he is outside (especially in the mountains ⛰️). I love practising sports (trailrunning, cycling, windsurfing) and I'm always open to try new thinks. I'm loving this trip so far, sleeping in different places every night and being able to explore different surroundings every day, but I also came to realize that it can be peaceful and rewarding to stay in one place a bit longer. It enables me to get to know the surroundings even better but mostly, to have some more and longer lasting social interaction. Which is why I'm on workaway. I had my first workaway experience in October in Slovakia, where I stayed with Richard and Martyna for two weeks. I loved it so much (it's so fulfilling to help someone else for a change) that I decided to do this much more in my future travels. Finally, I'll be on the road for at least the whole of 2024, so feel free to send me a message if you want to connect :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

My expertise is mostly in sportscience, as I graduated as a Master in sport policy & sport management and love to play sports myself (basically all sports but triathlon, CrossFit and mountaineering in particular). But throughout the years I've gained some more skills, both in my professions and in my free time/hobbies. In previous work experiences I gained a lot of information about sustainable supply chains, was leading local sustainable projects as well as teams of around 10 - 15 people. Through building my bus I also experienced and learned about wood working, plumbing, electrical systems, welding, etc.

Part of the reason why I'm travelling in my bus is that I hope to grow my appreciation for our natural world, and have some time to determine what I value in life and how I'd like to shape my future. I found that writing and making music (piano) are ways for me to ease my mind.

I'm basically open to learn anything and everything, and see this platform as a way to meet interesting people, have a positive impact, and also have a solid base sometimes so that I'm not always sleeping on the road :)
