Hi, my name's Ferdinand. I'm a 23 year old from Epekwitk/Prince Edward Island, Canada.

I like learning new things, learning how to do things right, and doing as many things as possible. I enjoy working outside and working with living things. I like talking with people and experiencing different cultures. I try to live sustainably and ethically, as far as that's possible, and would love to learn ways to do that better.

I'm big on reading, hiking, and music. I dabble in or used to do a variety of other hobbies, including improv, theatre, cooking, singing, writing, and motorcycling. I can find (almost) anything interesting, and I'm usually happy to try anything new that comes my way.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

For the last few years, I’ve worked on farms and orchards in my area during the growing season. I worked for three years straight on an urban farm/community garden, where I grew, tended and harvested a wide variety of fruits, vegetables and herbs. In my last year there, I was in a somewhat senior gardening position, and did a certain amount of managing and crop planning. I also did a lot of miscellaneous landscaping, fixing, and customer service there. My more specialized experience is with apples: I’ve worked at two commercial orchards, pruning, picking, fixing trellises, landscaping, etc.
In addition to those, I pick up new skills quickly, and would be happy to learn just about anything you might need help with. I have good stamina, and like doing physical and outdoor work.

I'm pretty patient and adaptable; I can handle just about any situation I'm thrown into. I studied math and various sciences (economics, psychology, physics) at university for a couple of years. Although I didn’t complete a degree, I still find the concepts and approaches interesting, if you know more about those than I do or are just interested in talking about them.
