Hello! My name is Eric and I am from Alberta, Canada. I love spending time outside and am passionate about sustainability and the preservation of the natural world. I studied Outdoor Education at the University of Alberta, and I spend my summers leading wilderness expeditions with youth, teaching them leadership and teamwork skills in outdoor environments. Animals bring me great joy and I will jump at every opportunity to work with them!
I joined Workaway to push my comfort zone and experience new places and cultures authentically. The vast diversity of planet earth (people, geography, landscapes, plants, animals, food, everything!) has always fascinated me and I want to explore while I am young.

Hi! My name is Olivia, I'm from Chester, England. I am passionate about the outdoors and learning new skills. I only speak English fluently but I am keen to learn Spanish and improve my languages. I have worked in Canada this summer with children in the outdoors, leading short expeditions and teaching them new skills.
Previously in England I lead drama workshops as an assistant director and participated in many theatre productions.
I am also extremely enthusiastic about bodies of water, water-sports, hiking, and trying new things!

Eric:
I grew up spending time playing outside and participating in outdoor leadership programs, and have been passionate about the natural world my entire life. My past 3 summers have been spent leading wilderness expeditions with youth - the same ones I participated in when I was young.
Outdoor leadership is a broad field of work, and it involves both physical skills and adversity in outdoor environments, and social/mental skills for working with the same people in difficult environments for long periods of time. In my job, I teach young people how to form and work in teams, but also how to navigate in the wilderness, be aware of wildlife, cook outside, set up shelters and more.
I am certified in wilderness first aid, as well as standard first aid and CPR-C. I have a bachelors degree in Outdoor Education / Physical Education.
My mother is a veterinarian, and as such I have spent my whole life surrounded by animals. I love working with animals of all sorts, but my main expertise is with horses and dogs.
Olivia:
Since I was young I have been involved with Girl Guides or The Scout Association, learning new skills while camping or hosting fundraising events in my hometown. During this time I gained invaluable experience, hiking, camping and travelling with people from all over England to The Netherlands and Belgium.
I also achieved the Young Leaders Award, in Scouting, and volunteered with groups aged 7-17 to facilitate their meetings.
I've part of acting companies, which has given me more confidence, and deeper understanding of devising, directing and performing. While involved with these theaters, I took a marketing course, which provided knowledge of how to best use social media and advertising to best market any product.
I have basic first aid training. Barista and bar trained.

We are looking for a peaceful and enriching experience where we can learn more about local cultures and customs while providing our help with anything we can! We are both beginner level Spanish speakers but are passionate to learn more. Also if there is a body of water nearby we will be so so happy :)
