Hello, we are Megan and Emily :). We will be travelling up the East Coast of Australia from February and we’re hoping to gain some volunteer opportunities and make amazing experiences whilst doing it.

(Megan) Hello I am 20 years old from the lovely little country of Ireland. I love meeting new people and working hard so to do both at the same time (while at the opposite end of the world) would be incredible. I grew up doing a lot of different sports so I’m very used to an active lifestyle and there’s nowhere in Ireland you can look without seeing a mountain so hikes are no stranger of mine. I’m really looking forward to this new experience, new people and what I can learn from it (:

(Emily) I am 23 and from Cambridge. I am adventurous and an optimistic person who likes to meet new people and learn new skills. I love immersing myself in new cultures.
I have recently graduated from Queens University Belfast and would love to make my post uni gap year worthwhile and memorable before going back to do my postgrad. I enjoy sports and being outdoors - walking and animal care. I am excited to get stuck in to new adventures - whether it be working on a sustainable farm to painting to caring.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We both have different backgrounds but have gathered the same skills from social commitments to sports, to learning when you need to get something done but also have a good boogie and a good time while doing it. As we have both work in the hospitality area we really enjoy working in a team with the social aspect, while also being able to adapt to situational needs. We aspire to work hard while thinking of the bigger picture.

Was noch ...

We both have a deep love and appreciation for music. Although our music genres don’t align we can always find common ground in the songs we love. Card games are also a huge part of our relationship, whenever we first met we would go to a pub and play card games until we were asked to leave.

(Megan) When growing up in Ireland Gaelic football is a must, I played for around 10 years, before moving to England. At 14 I also discovered Brazilian Jiujitsu which I believe made me who I am today, I completely fell in love with the sport and try to go to whatever classes I can to this day. I was lucky enough to compete at a national level a couple of times. When I’m not sweating away at the BJJ gym I do also like to play guitar in the down time.

(Emily) Throughout my life I have socially played hockey and netball. I grew up in a family that was very passionate about board games and puzzles so I’m no stranger to a good jigsaw . Recently I have realised my love for contemporary dancing. Since meeting Megan I also have started Brazilian Jiujitsu and hope to progress in it over time.
