Tätigkeiten, die uns interessieren:

We are from Hong Kong, and we want to sign up for all kinds of volunteering opportunities during our stay in Costa Rica! We hope to do a variety of activities and gain some valuable experience.

Beschreibung

Sophie and I are both international students on our gap year. We are very excited and passionate about traveling to Central America to experience culture very different to our own, and in hopes to aid communities in as many means possible. We both grew up in Hong Kong and China so are very familiar with city life. Connecting with nature and spending time in peaceful, outdoor environments is very important to us.

My hobbies include sketching, painting, cooking and being outdoors to explore parks and beaches. I also spend a lot of time with family and always enjoy playing and taking care of children. I treasure my time with friends and family whilst also finding time to experience and explore on my own. I have a very creative mindset when it comes to creating practical solutions and happy to experiment to resolve issues.
Sophie's hobbies include music, reading, and connecting with others online. She also loves animals, and enjoys taking care of them, first discovering this after volunteering at a dog shelter. Sophie is very responsible and tidy, and is detail oriented, getting things done efficiently.

We can both help out with
- General housework (cleaning, cooking, tidying)
-Taking care of animals
-Creative tasks, eg. drawing, crafting or editing work
-Assisting on the farms or guesthouses

We both enjoy working and exploring. We also both love meeting new people and attempting to understand their ways of life. Communicating and collaborating with others comes very natural to us and we are excited to learn new ways to help out!

We are both fluent in English and have intermediate Mandarin speaking and listening. Learning some Spanish would be an interest for both of us, perhaps through just experience or through teaching English.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I, Elin, have worked in an outdoor educational company for 3 months during my current gap year. There I got to branch out with my collaboration and organisational skills, working with kids to develop my compassion, patience and responsibility. I also participated in many design projects, helping develop marketing slides and even graphics for board games.

Sophie finished high school with an interest in Psychology, and is going to Brighton, UK for that in University in late 2026. She is a fast learner and good collaborator, with experience in writing, and having a short internship involving admin and logistics. As well as consistently volunteering at a dog shelter in her spare time.

Was noch ...

Sophie and I are passionate to explore and experience as much as possible during our gap year. Specifically getting a mix of both work and travel. My (Elin) personal interests revolve around art and design, it being a big part of my life. Sophie is interested in Psychology and current affairs. However, outdoor activities can also be thrilling for both us.
