I'm currently back from my workaway in Switzerland and would like to leave again at the end of July until August in the Pyrenees, northern Spain or the south-west in general.

Beschreibung

Sharing, discovering and surpassing myself are the key words of my trip, even if improving my English is a key point.

My name is Mayeul (yes, that's my real first name 😄), 26 years old, I am a French nature and animal lover, passionate about games and sports.
What moves me are projects with an impact, making myself useful, helping while preserving our environment.

--- Who am I? ---

It's complicated because I'm many things at the same time and I enjoy many activities without having any definite preferences.

I'm often told that I'm optimistic, spontaneous, curious and kind with a touch of crazy (I'm not sure if that's a compliment, but I take it as such).

But mostly that I'm a powerhouse who needs to burn off energy, which is why I do a lot of sports. I love climbing 🧗‍♂️ and hiking/bivouacking, but I also do French boxing, cycling, running, skiing and diving when I'm near water (one day I'll pass my levels).

I also have lots of other interests that take up more or less of my time, such as the mountains, preserving the environment, finding sustainable alternatives to everyday life, woodworking, which I'm particularly passionate about, new technologies and in particular DIY with Raspberry or Arduino for example, entertainment equipment 🎯 (table soccer, pinball machines, billiards, ...) and games in general 🎲 (big fan of board games, outdoor games, video games, ...).
I'm always open to new experiences 🙂!

🎶 I also listen to quite a lot of music without getting attached to a specific style or artist.

--- What am I looking for ? ---

New experiences, sharing, caring, discovering, learning, enjoying and living life differently and improving my English (still there).

I should mention that I'm quite bad at oral English (but more at ease in writing). That's partly why I'm doing this trip: to improve. I'm making every effort to understand and progress. It's not a limiting factor, but don't be surprised if you're a bit shy at first. It has nothing to do with the people, but only with my linguistic fluency.

That's why I'd like to take part in projects where other volunteers are present to share this conviviality (with both volunteers and hosts, of course).

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I graduated in agronomy and environment two years ago. Since then, I've been working on vegetation management around railroad lines and gaining experience in organic market gardening for several weeks. I have also worked on an educational farm in Switzerland, specializing in extensive goat breeding.

I'm at ease with animals and love working with them (except snakes).

Once I've learned the basics, I'm able to work independently, but I also enjoy working as part of a team. It's a lot of fun, with lots of discussion and critical points of view on how best to carry out the tasks in hand.

I like to be flexible in my tasks, because it keeps me from getting bored, my biggest enemy. I'm interested in everything and love learning new things. For example, I'd really like to improve my cooking skills, as at the moment I only have the basics.

I have some knowledge of woodworking thanks to personal projects, although I still have a lot to learn technically. I also have various DIY and repair skills.

Was noch ...

Being master of my ship and deciding what I want to do is an enjoyable experience, but long-term solitude doesn't work for me. Although I'm not always the most socially at ease, chatting, laughing, exploring, discovering, watching films or just having fun is essential for me, but alone it doesn't have the same flavor.

If we have a good feeling about each other, maybe we can discover each other and have some great adventures together. That's why I'm mainly looking for places where I can share with other adventurers.

It's also very enriching to share the lives of hosts outside work, to discover places they like or don't know yet, if that suits them.

Apart from the time spent helping out, I plan to explore the towns and villages, go hiking, continue playing the ukulele, relax in the sun with a book or enjoy other activities depending on the location (climbing, diving, etc.).
