Beschreibung

We’re a couple of tree planters travelling the world seeking to make new connections and acquire new skills and knowledge to, one day, apply in projects of our own.
We’ve been spending summers in the Canadian wilderness, living in a tent, planting sometimes more than 5000 trees (each) per day, so we’re no strangers to hard work. Last year, I realized we could take our skills abroad. Having planted in France, England, and currently in Iceland, I’ve realized working while travelling is a great way to not only help the budget, but also explore regions and areas tourism won’t typically take you to, so workaway seems like an excellent option aswell. We’re passionate about reforestation and permaculture projects, artistic ventures and social/cultural events. We’re both highly skilled in the kitchen, Kate’s more creative and I’m more efficient, so we make a good team. Pretty tidy people in general, and always happy to help clean up. We appreciate organization and keeping things simple in life. We both love the outdoors and animals of all kinds, so no task is too dirty; there’s a special satisfaction that comes from earning a shower.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We're planters, so outdoor manual labour. Gardening. Landscaping. Cooking & baking & kitchen stuff. General household maintenance & upkeep. Taking care of animals. We’ve both been painters before. We’ve both worked in restaurants / hospitality jobs. Dylan has some plumbing experience. Kate is very artistic, having worked for an environmental NGO, she’s versed in the design of gardens and outdoor landscapes. We both work well in groups and with other people. Fluent in both French and English, basics in Spanish.

Was noch ...

We love the outdoors, meeting new people, trying new things, seeing new places, eating good food, laughing lots, movies, ice cream and baked goods. Kate makes the best cookies. Dylan loves to slackline. We both love swimming and being around water, surfing, the ocean and its creatures. Playing cards, telling stories, hanging around a fire listening to music or singing along to someone’s guitar. We both work very hard for what we have, so we cherish the parts of life that don’t require such highly demanding physical output. We understand the value of hard work, friendship and loyalty. We like to be efficient and get shit done so we can enjoy time away from work, it’s nice to feel like you’ve earned that.
