I love travelling, meeting new people, the sea, the beach, speaking languages, learning new things, and teaching.

I was born and raised in Brazil and then moved to Israel to live on a kibbutz -- a wonderful new experience of communal life and work. I have been living in Israel since 1985. I am a college professor of Linguistics and before that I taught English and other languages in 3 continents for about 20 years. I did some teaching exchanges so I had the chance to spend a week teaching in Hungary, and spend a week in Granada working with colleagues. I teach students who will become English teachers, and also experienced teachers of Hebrew, Arabic, and English who come for a Master's degree to enhance their teaching skills and their understanding of language learning and teaching.

In the years of 2022-2023 I took two years off to travel, live new experiences and different ways of life. I have two grown children.

I am 57 so I managed to gather some life experience in different cultures -- Brazil, US, Israel, Greece. I went on long camping trips along the years but camping in the Israeli desert, in Alaska, in the Grand Canyon, and on Greek islands have been the most rewarding. I travelled in Greece for some time , learning the language and the culture. I am even learning how to play the bouzouki... I have had the opportunity to help locals with their English as well.

Learning new languages and cultures, meeting new people, travelling, and teaching are my passions. I think that these can be combined in workaway experiences.

I can teach languages, I can teach teachers, and be involved with anything related to education.
Cooking and sewing.
Playing the guitar and the tzouras;bouzouki.
Painting and drawing on wood, mainly natural wood found on the way
(see pictures).

I am learning a new instrument (the Tzuras); I love to play scrabble and other language games; I love hiking and snorkeling; I have recently run 2 half-marathons and hoping to run a full one at some point...
