Hi, I'm Crissy, 31 year old from Melbourne, Australia. I have been working as a social worker since 2017 with experience working in disability, mental health, family violence and with refugees and asylum seekers.
I am travelling in Europe and will relocate to the UK for a working holiday, with plans to travel as much as possible in between my time working in the UK and anywhere in the world for that matter
I love to travel and meet new people, and interested in getting to know locals and the culture. I would be interested in making new international friends whilst really feeling part of a family and their culture. I am open to helping out in different ways from physical maintenance/labour tasks with, cleaning, gardening, art projects, hospitality, welcoming/guiding guests, to carer support, charity work, international aid.
I am a quick learner and happy to learn new skills for the stay.

I like to explore and travel different places and am particularly interested in the outdoors. I love hiking, learning bouldering and rockclimbing, love exploring rain forests, rice fields, being in the snow, swimming at the beach and lakes and seeing historic sights and cities. I am very open minded and curious to see and learn new things.

I have had two experiences with workaway in 2019 and am eager to have more.

I currently work as a social worker, have very good people skills, have empathy, good listening and communication skills and a passion for working with vulnerable communities.

I have worked in many different areas over the years from hospitality, retail, and reception, to now working as a social worker. I have computer and technology skills, art and crafts skills, administration skills, can cook and clean, and learn new skills easily, open to manual labour tasks. I am reliable, flexible and open to different work.

As a social worker I have have worked with disability, mental illness, homelessness and violence, refugees and asylum seekers therefore am culturally competent, tolerant and resilient.

I am eager to travel, explore new places and open to varying roles in my workaway experience.
