I am traveling in Portugal with my campervan for almost 2 years now, I have been volunteering at a lot of places, some for a short period and a few places for a longer time. I learned a lot about permaculture and volunteered during several Permaculture Design Courses, where I also participated in the course by giving practical's about different subjects like composting, pruning, cordwood and wattle & daub.

I am a happy, calm and enthusiastic person, who loves to connect with other people and likes to work with his hands outside in nature.

I like to be outside and working on nice projects gives me a lot of energy. The work I get most enthusiastic about is natural building. I worked on several natural building projects like making a wattle & daub wall, a cordwood wall, strawbale house, making a chickencoop from pallet wood, building a stone wall for an outdoor shower, making natural stone foundations, compost toilets and a shower and toilet cabin. I only have a little experience with electrics and plumbing, but I do like that and would like to learn more about it.

Next to that a did a lot of land work, like land clearance with the strimmer, clearing brambles, chopping wood, work with the chainsaw and rotavating land.

I do like to socialize in groups and I prefer to work together, because I like to learn from other people's knowledge, ideas and creative insights, although I did several projects on my own as well.

From time to time I also need my own space so therefore I travel on my own in between projects. I am searching to find my own piece of land and therefore always curious for new lands, to see which activities are organized in the area and to meet new people from the local communities.

In my free time I like to be in nature and that's why I make a lot of hikes. I enjoy learning about local edible plants and go out foraging plants from the forest and cook healthy food with it. I do like to grow my own food and I had a vegetable garden at my last home.

I used to work in IT, but being behind a screen the whole day was not making me happy. So I choose to go on this journey to be more outside, in connection with people and learn more about permaculture.

I did a Permaculture Design Course in Portugal and a Food forest design course in the Netherlands in 2021. I did a lot of nature courses and volunteering with the Bosbeweging, a Dutch organization that gives courses in nature connection and bushcraft, such as primitive survival, eating from nature, tracking and Wim Hof courses combined with shamanic meditations.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We started our journey since last July by vunteering at two different permaculture projects, where we learned about:
- land clearing: strimming, chainsawing, collecting firewood, etc.
- natural building: cob, wattle & daub, stone wall foundation, strawball building and cordwood.
- Taking care of animals: herd of sheep and chickens
- Working in the vegetable garden: sowing, harvesting, pruning, weeding, etc.
- Agroforestry: planning trees, mulching, etc.
- Cooking, cleaning and hosting for permaculture courses.

I have my own campervan, which is my home in every place.
My campervan is 6,4 meters long and 2,9 meters high, so please check if this rather large vehicle fits on your road and the campervan place. :-)
