Hey, hello, I'm Christien from the Netherlands. 59 years young. I have worked in healthcare all my life and have now quit my job to do the things I love to do now. I like being in nature. I like gardening, walking, reading and Biodanza. I want to contribute to a more sustainable world by learning, doing and sharing knowledge. And I want to spark my creativity. I am a positive person and like to go with the flow. I look forward to meeting and working with inspiring people.

Hi, I'm Edwin. Partner of Christien. I would like to share knowledge with like-minded people to make the world a better place to live. For humans, animals and all other living beings on our beautiful planet. I have seen a lot of the world and can help others with odd jobs. I am good at woodworking and painting. I also find gardening more and more enjoyable.

Hey, hallo, ik ben Christien uit Nederland. 59 jaar jong. Ik heb mijn leven in de gezondheidszorg gewerkt en heb nu mijn baan opgezegd om de dingen te doen die ik nu graag doe. Ik ben graag in de natuur. Ik hou van tuinieren, wandelen, lezen en Biodanza. Ik wil bijdragen aan een duurzamere wereld, door te leren, doen en kennis te delen. En ik wil mijn creativiteit aanwakkeren. Ik ben een positief persoon en ga graag met de stroom mee. Ik kijk ernaar uit om inspirerende mensen te ontmoeten en samen te werken.

We are Christien and Edwin from the Netherlands.
Both 59 years young.
Christien was for her adult life pediatric nurse.
She's a skilled gardener and forestry.
Analysing processes and a structured worker
She's good in generating new ideas.
Good listener and a creative mind.
She will always try to see the positive sight of things and is open minded.
She speaks Dutch, English and understands and speaks a little French and German.
Edwin had a adventures life.
He worked for many years as a pedagogical worker in Youth prisons and psychiatric Youth clinics.
He worked as a trained offshore diver in and around the Indian Ocean for 10 years.
Underwater welding, cutting and marine biology.
He's a paramedici instructor and became somewhere on the road a skilled woodworker.
He loves to see life from the sunny side, is creative and loves to play his guitar.
Edwin speaks Dutch, fluent English and German and a little bit of Hungarian.

We are really interested in learning about permaculture and other sustainable ways of living and eating. We believe humans have to change their way of treating the planet.
Christien likes Biodanza and Edwin likes to make music with other people.
We are social people but we also like our space.

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Help us with gardening and ...)

We really had a great time with Liesbeth and Hans. It was a great pleasure to stay with them for 3 weeks and to work with them on their property.
Liesbeth and Hans were very hospitable and involved from the very first moment. And we received a lot of interesting information about the house and the area.
The work was varied and never too heavy.… read more It was nice that they could explain well what they wanted and there was plenty of room for your own input. They shared their knowledge and experiences with us for the work.
We were busy with the maintenance of their beautiful "estate".
Edwin did mowing, splitting wood and painting, among other things. And was allowed to use the beautiful machinery that Hans explains well. Christien was allowed to do pruning and garden maintenance, among other things. It was wonderful to see many stacked walls and rocks reappear. Liesbeth and Hans were very attentive every day about the work we had done that day. The tools were of good quality. Around the house was a great variety of fauna and flora, which we enjoyed.
We were spoiled by Hans and Liesbeth for 3 weeks, we had a house for ourselves with all the necessities present, very beautiful and comfortable. We were provided with plenty of food.
About twice a week we ate together, which was very tasty and enjoyable every time. We had agreed on this together and it turned out to be a great balance of privacy and togetherness. We were together a lot during work and during breaks. We had pleasant and interesting conversations.
We were able to explore the beautiful surroundings by foot and by bike.
If you have the chance to come and help Hans and Liesbeth, we advise a wholehearted yes. We hope to see them and their beautiful place in the Dordogne again.

Wij hebben echt een fijne tijd gehad bij Liesbeth en Hans. Het was een groot plezier om 3 weken bij hen te verblijven en met hen op hun grondgebied te werken.
Liesbeth en Hans waren vanaf het eerste moment erg gastvrij en betrokken. En we kregen veel interessante informatie over het huis en de omgeving.
Het werk was gevarieerd en nooit te zwaar. Het was fijn dat zij goed konden uitleggen wat zij wilden en er was alle ruimte voor eigen inbreng. Voor de werkzaamheden deelden zij hun kennis en ervaringen met ons.
We hebben ons beziggehouden met het onderhoud van hun prachtige "landgoed".
Edwin heeft o.a. gemaaid, houtgekloofd en schilderwerk gedaan. En heeft hierbij gebruik mogen maken van de mooie machinerie waar Hans goede uitleg over geeft. Christien heeft o.a. mogen snoeien en tuinonderhoud mogen doen. Het was prachtig om veel stapelmuurtjes en rotsen weer tevoorschijn te zien komen. Liesbeth en Hans waren elke dag heel attent over de werkzaamheden die we gedaan hadden die dag. Het gereedschap was van goede kwaliteit. Rond het huis was een grote varieteit aan fauna en flora, waar we van genoten hebben.
We zijn 3 weken verwend door Hans en Liesbeth, we hadden een huisje voor onszelf met alle benodigdheden aanwezig, erg mooi en comfortabel. We werden ruim van eten voorzien.
Ongeveer 2 keer per week aten we samen wat elke keer erg lekker en gezellig was. Dit hadden we zo samen afgesproken en dat bleek een prima balans van privacy en samenzijn. Tijdens het werken en tijdens de pauzes waren we veel samen. We hadden dan gezellige en interessante gesprekken.
We hebben wandelend en met de fiets de prachtige omgeving kunnen verkennen.
Als je de kans hebt om Hans en Liesbeth te komen helpen, dan adviseren we een volmondig ja. Wíj hopen hen en hun prachtige plek in de Dordogne weer terug te zien.

We had a fantastic week with Johan and Hanneke. And we were lucky that the parents were also present. A warm welcome, and what a hospitality from all of them!!
