About me! I'm 27-years old and am from Melbourne/Naarm, Australia. I recently left my 9-5 job (after 3 years), and I'm very very ready to not be working inside on my computer every day. I spent the last 3 months travelling Vietnam (incredible place!), and i am spending the second half of the year volunteering or working on farms/cafes/whatever feels right throughout Europe. And then we'll see what happens ey?

I have a passion for amazing food/produce and sustainability, and I'm very excited to expand my understanding and knowledge in these areas. This year I want these things that have been in periphery of my life, or "hobbies", to be centre stage. I care deeply about our planet and the people on it, and want more hands on experience learning about the practises that are so crucial to a sustainable (and thriving) future.

The other focus of this year is investing more time in my creative practice. I love to spend a lot of my time making - whether that be cooking or drawing or ceramics... anything using my hands. I completed a degree in Industrial Design, which was a perfect fit for my love of making. I'm particularly interested in growing my skills in painting and digital illustration this year, but most of the time I just do whatever feels right!

I'd say I'm somewhere between introverted and extroverted, I love a chat (and a board game or two) and also really value my alone time to recharge and do my creative things. I also love hanging out with kids, and would be more than happy to spend time this year hanging out, exploring and playing with some little ones!

I'm tidy and am more than happy to contribute to household tasks! I've also done my fair bit of travelling (including a year-long exchange in the Netherlands) and have met people from many countries and walks of life, and I feel very privileged to have experienced all of this.

(I also have a UK passport so can legally work in the UK and surrounds).

Was könntest du arbeiten?

General skills relevant to farming/ cafe work:
- Working with people from all walks of life - I love meeting new people, especially people who are passionate about the world and the things they are making in it! From a professional perspective, in my job I worked with a range of people (including interviewing/ running workshops with people on topics including the Australian wine industry and agricultural biosecurity), which has built skills in chatting with different people and navigating challenging/ sensitive topics!
- Working with kids, including face painting, crazy games, cooking classes, exploring!
- Worked front-of-house (and a bit of kitchen) in a number of cafes/ restaurants.
- Worked in local farms in Melbourne (volunteer weeding days etc.), and in my garden at home.
- My background in industrial design means that i'm passionate about finding solutions to complex problems. It also gives me a range of "making" skills, including carpentry/ woodwork, and more generally going through the design process with new systems, services or products/objects. I love problem solving, whether that means physical challenges or systemic ones!
- I love cooking, and will happily spend all day making food! From sourdough bread to home-made pasta!
