Hi beautiful people,
I am a solo female traveler from Belgium/France and I am lucky to have 4 months out of work until mid August.
I have cycled all the way from Brussels, my hometown, to Geilo, in Norway.
And now, I feel like changing my mode of transport, and do some workaway for a bit until end of July. I would love to help around with any tasks that I can do. I am happy to learn and have some energy to share.
I love to participate in projects that makes sense to me (ecological, social, building, farming, animals... I am not necessarily skilled in all that but happy to learn).
In my spare time, I would also love to discover Norway, hiking, cycling or swimming. Or just chilling with others, that's also nice after 2 months of solo traveling 😀

My hobbies : singing, playing the guitar and boardgames, dancing lindy hop or west coast swing.

I stayed for 10days at Johanna and Ritschie (+Jori, the adorable cat), at their lovely place in Lensvik.
I really really enjoyed learning many skills while helping them out in their house.

I stayed at Linda for a week in the beautiful town of Tysse.
Linda has a very big heart and welcomed me warmly. I very quickly got to know her and felt very comfortable with her !
I love how she opened to me about her life and her feelings, even sharing the hard times of her life.

Where to start to describe the amazing month I spent on the Van Gogh with William !
The experience was unique and if I could, I would do it again without any doubts.
William has a big heart and I am very glad I got to know him. Of course, it took a bit of time to get to know and get used to each other, but after a few days, I really felt at home … read more on the boat. The work was not difficult. I did the shopping, helped with cleaning the boat (inside and outside ) and I cooked our meals. On a few days, I also sanded the wood and William varnished it. And I also drove the boat a bit, which I really loved ! I had quite a lot of free time everyday to do what I want. Workawayers need to know that there are not really rigid working hours when you live on a boat because you need to adapt. But to me this flexibility was perfect and I can garantee you I felt like the work was very light and sometiles even not work at all :wink:
We drove the boat from Mâcon (north of Lyon) to Paris and it took us 1 month but we had time to stop and visit villages. As great memories of this trip, I will have our funky stay in Dijon, the crossing of the canal de Bourgogne's tunnel which was very special :grin:, all the friends we welcomed on the boat and shared dinner with (including my grand parents who came on the boat and shared lunch with us at the end of the trip). I will also have as a great memory the crossing of Paris. That was really something. But above all, I will remember the very simple but precious moments where we simply navigated together and talked about our lives. William has so many experiences and anecdotes to share that we could write a fantastic book with them. :wink: I would describe William as a truly nice person who has a strong character but who is very respectful and tolerant and who deeply wants the workawayer to have a good time and feel safe. I liked the fact that even if we were on a boat, each of us had our personal/private space so we could respect eachother's privacy. (William had his cabin at the back of the boat and I had my cabin at the front which was very handy.)
To conclude, I want to thank William so much for the great opportunity he gave me to live on a boat for one month. It is a way of life I loved and an experience I recommend. Thank you for being a great guy. To me, I consider you a bit like an uncle :wink:and I hope we meet again someday .
