We're currently taking a long holiday from "normal life" and travelling through Central & South America since June 2022. We're hungry for adventures, enriching experiences and cultural discoveries.

Hi everyone!

We're a Alexandra and Dan, a couple of easy-going travellers always searching for new experiences and hungry to learn about different cultrures and lifestyles.

After meeting in Norway in 2015, living for several months in Italy and several years in Ireland, we decided to set off on a new adventure - Central & South America.

We've been in this part of the world since June 2022. So far, we've travelled through Costa Rica (one month dedicated to a Workaway in a hostel), Ecuador (2 months of workaway in a mountain hotel), Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina.

Now - Chile.



Vitals about us:

Very easy-going, tolerant and laid-back couple. Curious about the world, universe, science, history, culture, philosophy and so much more. Dan loves cooking, Alex - baking sweets. Interested in meeting new people to find out about their world view and perspective.

Above all, we love travelling, discovering new places and being exposed to new customs and cultures, We are always interested in local history, traditions and lifestyle.




One by one:

Alex
Languages, crazy adventures, sport, Yoga, meditation, cold showers & breathing exercises, literature (both reading & writing), art and astronomy enthusiast.

Fluent in English and Italian, able-to-speak Portuguese, Spanish and Russian, planning to learn Norwegian, Japanese, Dutch...all the languages :)

I'm addicted to movement, being outdoors, long walks, cycling, jogging, hiking etc.

Avid stargazer, amateur poetry & literature translator.

Having worked for several years in a translation company in Dublin, I left the office in June 2021 and have been a freelance translator ever since.



Dan
After working for several years as a professional chef in kitchens of Norway, Romania and Ireland, I have decided to start learning about computer science and I hope to work one day as a freelance coder. For now, I work as a freelance translator.

I'm interested in history, philosophy and culture, I enjoy podcasts and documentaries.

Gaming, music, football and cooking enthusiast.




Workaway experience


Having travelled, lived and volunteering in various, often challenging, conditions, we're not afraid of hard work, difficult tasks and ever-changing conditions.

Our Workaway & volunteering experience includes gardening, DIY, cooking, running a coffee shop and some farming and construction work.

August 2022: workaway in a hostel in Costa Rica, performing all kinds of tasks: preparing breakfast for the guests, housekeeping, checking in/out the guests and helping around in general.

October 2022: workaway in a hostel in Ecuador, covering the reception, receiving guests and performing housekeeping

November - December 2022: workawaying in a mountain hostel in Ecuador, performing all kinds of running-a-hostel-duties and participating in various local projects with a Kichwa community.

July 2023: workaway on a farm in Paraguay, helping with preparing meals for the guests, housekeeping, gardening and housekeeping

October 2023: workaway at a private host running a self-sustainable place, helping with gardening, planing/replanting and some construction work - sewing wood and plastic planks, making a wooden bench, renovating the floor.

We love challanges and interesting and demanding work. We always give 101 % of ourselves and try to do our best. We're always glad to acquire new skills.

We're travellers and adventurers, taking great pleasure in new activities and learning about novelties. We're passionately curious about world, not only ours, and we enjoy learning about new points of view.
