My name is Bridget, I'm 22 years old, (23 in March!) living in Sydney Australia, but originally from Russia as my family migrated when I was 9 years old.
In 2019 I've completed a Bachelor of Media and Communications, focusing on film production and social/political science. Personally, I am interested in topics of philosophy, psychology, spirituality, social science, astrology, tarot, and visual expressions such as film, photography and art. I am also interested in learning about taking care of myself on a holistic level as a 3 dimensional being (mind/body/soul), and living in tune with the natural world without harming the environment. Things like: yoga, meditation, naturopathy, cooking, permaculture and building.
I feel very out of place in westernised capitalist society of my city, but I don't know of any other way to live. I guess this is what most travelers are looking for: an alternative to the mainstream system. I realise that being immersed in this kind of environment all of my life has shaped me into being and thinking a certain way, but I am looking to change myself and open myself up to new possibilities and ways of living. I guess I am on a journey of healing myself, detoxing, dis-identifying with the 'truths' that were built into me, becoming un-done and then consciously rebuilding myself into a more sustainable being.
From March 2020 I am going to be travelling for as long as I can. I am looking to connect and find resonance with people and places, and also enjoy the natural environment, like mountains, jungle, and ocean. I'm flexible and open-minded. Looking to stay for at least 1 month with each host.
A big priority for me is to feel a sense of community, be welcomed and have good communication. I am not interested in just working for the sake of it, because I can do that here in Sydney just as much. I am a hard worker and I put a lot of care and energy into the things I do, but I am not travelling for the purpose of economic exchange. I have no solid goals or destinations, I just want to learn, and I will put in the work as long as I don't feel "used".
As I am travelling solo, I'm more interested in hosts who accommodate multiple workawayers at a time, so that there is lots of opportunity for connection.

VIDEO MAKING & WEB CONTENT CREATOR / SOCIAL MEDIA / WRITER -
I did a 3 year degree in Media & Communications, therefore I am very skilled at written and visual modes of communication. My skills include: videography, photography, editing, writing, researching, blogging etc. I'm good at expressing myself, using language and visual tools to communicate messages clearly.
ADMIN / RECEPTION -
I've worked as a PA for 1 year, and as a Receptionist for 2 years. Very organised, able to plan schedules, manage front of house, bookings, flights, meetings, email correspondence etc.
English may be my 2nd language, but I'm highly proficient in reading/writing/speaking. I also have high empathy and patience, able to communicate clearly with all types of people, making me a good teacher.
I have a little brother who is 2 years old, as well as previous experience babysitting for local families.
GENERAL WORK + PHYSICAL LABOR
I am willing to do general cleaning, cooking, making coffee, building and gardening. I would like to strengthen my practical skills in building and gardening in particular because it's not the type of work that I am used to but I find is very satisfying and interesting.
