Looking for a holiday trip 2/3weeks and offer diy and carpenting help, in exchange for cultural experience.
OR a paid position for one month so i can take unpaid leave from work.

Beschreibung

Hello,
My name is Bob, 29y, and living in de city of Alkmaar (close to Amsterdam)
For work im in project engineering and construction and mainly at the office. Therefore in my spare time I like to be outside, on-route and work with my hands a lot, mechanical stuff and also some carpenting. I have 2 motorcycles, one for riding and the other to rebuild, a hobby i share with my friends.
In my house i like to modify and do maintenance myself.

For holidays you won't find my at some resort far away, but like to explore countries and cities by myself in Europe mainly. Where I prefer roadtrips above traveling by plane. Holidays with friends we commonly book airbnb's in any country we feel like going to. We've been al over the place from Portugal, Germany, Switzerland to the Czech Republic and Hungary. And love being in the mountains. Right now Scandinavia is on my list.
And in the winter skiing in the austrian alps is a fixed date.

At home I like to be bussy in my garage. Neighbours always walk up to me for a talk when they see me outside, or when they need a hand with something and im always happy to help.

With WorkAway I like to discover more of europe (and maybe the world) and in addition to my previous traveling like to meet new people and learn more about cultures. Together with my skills in DIY, I hope I can help you out too!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Summarised:
- Carpenting (construction and furniture)

- Can helpout organise all kinds of stuf

With my career experience im used to work in projects, know how to make schedules, set priorities.

Furthermore im skilled with my hands, and have al lot of experience in wood working and carpenting, stuff like renovating, painting/sanding and little construction work all around the house.
At highschool I joint the training for furniture making and I've been making some stools, picknick tables and interieur work myself the past years.

Last 3 years my skills have been extended to metal work too, and have done some mechanical projects.
My last project I've been making an electrical moving dinner table for a friend of mine who just bought his first house, the table with a steel frame and 3mtr long oak-wooden top can be adjusted to a standing-height, so when you trow a party you can easily move the table up and put out the drinks :) This project was entirely new for my and definitely pushed my skills to a new level.
2 years ago I did a welding course for MIG welding and bought the machine.

Over the years that I've been having a car and riding a motorcycle I also try to do most of the maintenance myself to the extend of my tools and knowledge.

As you can see I try to do new things every time as long as there is something new to learn. And now that my technical view and insight has grown im able to put most tasks to a good ending.

Was noch ...

I like any kinds of company, let me put together a campfire and we have a beer and good conversations, or take me out to a town-party / festival.
But can also enjoy a boardgame or watch a movie (with a beer).
If you have a life story or historical facts of the city we are in im all ears.
Dont worrie about having to entertain my or anything, I can go and like to go out by myself too.
