Hi my name is Billie, I'm 22 years old, I am half kiwi (New Zealand) and half French. I was very lucky to grow up in France in a little town called Annecy, next to the alps, where I was able to enjoy the beautiful mountains with my family, spending the winters skiing and the summers, hiking, camping and rock climbing. I was born in New Zealand and I spent my university years there. Living there, really gave me a passion for the ocean, where I began to get into surfing and more recently free-diving :) Some of my goals are to learn to spearfish and also do underwater photography!

Some things, about myself and my character, would be that I am adventurous, curious, extroverted, but also I would say I am a sensitive person, I feel things very deeply and care a-lot about the people around me. From a young age, I have always been really interested about the environment and how we as humans can try and reduce our impacts. As I got older, I decided to do a degree in science that I finished last year, to learn not only about the environment but also about the socio-political injustices around the world. I absolutely loved my studies and I know that later on in my life I want to work in a job that has meaningful outcomes for the environment and people.

However right now, I am taking a break, to travel the world, as it has always been my dream to explore different landscapes, cultures and places! I am so excited to live in new places and meet new people. I haven't made an exact travelling plan yet, as I am likely going to go with flow of things, but some things I really want to do is experience different places to surf and also improve my free-diving skills :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

As, I wrote in my profile description, I am french and kiwi, so I am fluent in French and english :) I also took Spanish at school, so I know some of the basics in Spanish.
I just finished a science degree specialising in environmental science and human geography! Where I learnt about a variety of topics, such as biology, everything environmental science related (climate change, overfishing, planetary boundaries, contamination etc...), human geography and physical geography. After I finished my degree, I did tutoring at university, which taught me how to teach students different topics.

In terms of practical/physical skills, I have had lots of experience working in restaurants and cafe. Additionally, for the month of November 2024 I volunteered at a guest house in Baleal, Portugal, where I did general cleaning of the house for the guests and also took care of check-ins. Furthermore, my grandma has a farm, where I often helped her look after the animals, garden and other farm related jobs. I have also done some basic building jobs, such as helping building fences, sanding and some painting too.
Finally, the outdoors and sport have been a big part of my life, so I am up for any highly physical job, which requires lots of time in the outdoors.
