Hi! I'm Behnaz (CURRENTLY TRAVELLING ALONE) — a calm, caring, and curious person originally from Iran, now living in Germany. After many years of dreaming about volunteering while living in my home country, I’ve finally gifted myself the freedom to explore, connect, and grow. Joining Workaway is a meaningful step for me, one that feels like both a personal reward and a new beginning.

In the past, I’ve participated in volunteer projects funded by the European Union through Erasmus Solidarity Corps, which gave me a taste of how powerful cultural exchange and teamwork can be. I love helping to create spaces where people feel welcome, safe, and seen — whether that means lending a hand with daily tasks, sharing stories, or simply being present and responsible in a group.

People often describe me as grounded, responsible, and warm-hearted. I enjoy bringing people together and creating a fun, relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels at home. I’m not loud or wild, but I’m the one who remembers the details, checks in on others, and genuinely cares about how things are going.

What makes me happy? Meaningful conversations, simple routines, walking in nature, practicing yoga, trying out creative hobbies, and discovering new ways of living that are kind to people and the planet.

Now that I’m in Europe, I’m excited to experience everyday life in new places — not as a tourist, but as someone who contributes and learns side by side with others. I believe in empathy, sustainability, and slow, intentional travel. I’m excited to be part of the Workaway community and can’t wait to share skills, stories, and laughter with those I meet along the way.

Yes, I’m very passionate about learning languages! I’ve mostly learned German by myself, which helped me discover useful tricks for mastering new languages. I’m still working on improving my German and already looking forward to learning more languages in the future. I also have a TEFL certificate to teach English as a foreign language, and I enjoy helping others with their English or Farsi.

I'm a calm, caring, and responsible person who enjoys helping in different ways and learning new things along the way.

Gardening & Outdoor Work: I really enjoy working in the garden and being in nature. I’m happy to help with planting, weeding, harvesting, or any kind of outdoor work. I find it peaceful and satisfying to work with plants and soil.

Building & DIY: I’m very interested in learning more about building, renovation, and DIY projects. I’ve helped with small repairs and would love to be part of any creative or hands-on tasks, even if it’s something new for me. I learn quickly and enjoy using my hands.

Cooking: I love cooking and friends often say my food is really good! I can cook healthy and tasty meals, especially vegetarian ones, and I’m always happy to help in the kitchen or cook for others.

Languages & Teaching: I speak fluent English, Farsi is my native language, and I’m learning German. I’ve done language exchange and enjoy helping people improve their English or learn something new in a fun, relaxed way.

Cleaning & Organizing: I’m tidy and like keeping things clean and cozy. I’m happy to help with house chores or keeping shared spaces nice for everyone.

Group Support & Childcare: I like bringing people together and creating a friendly atmosphere. I also enjoy spending time with children and helping with group activities.

Volunteering Experience: I’ve joined several Erasmus+ projects that focused on culture, sustainability, and teamwork. These experiences taught me to be open, flexible, and work well with people from different backgrounds.

I’m always curious, willing to help, and excited to contribute to meaningful projects.
