Welcome to my profile!

My name is Annemarie and I live near Eindhoven. I’m a mother of 3 adult sons who live in Amsterdam and Maastricht for work/studies. The house feels rather big since they have moved out and I wouldn’t mind to exchange it for a small house in a peaceful village in France, Spain or Italy…😁
Not in the last place because the area here is getting very crowded.

The last 25 years I’ve worked as an auditor in the hospitality industry. Helping hotel chains in improving their quality by assessing service, cleanliness, maintenance and safety.
My work has brought me to beautiful places all over Europe with valuable encounters with hospitable and friendly people.

Now I work at my husbands office and here I’m flexible to take time off to travel, and possibly get fresh prospects for the future.

Maybe buy an old property in France, Spain or Italy. Maybe start a small business in hospitality. Maybe create a cutting garden. I cannot deny that I'm sometimes dreaming about these ideas....Would love to hear from people who took the plunge!

As probably everybody on this platform I like to travel. And I try to avoid places which are spoilt for local people by floods of tourists. I like authentic and pure.
I can totally enjoy beauty in nature, as well as in art, culture and design.
Visiting markets is always on my agenda when abroad….j’adore 😍

People who know me will probably describe me as spontaneous, helpful, independent, creative, broadly orientated . I’m a responsable person and I will take the utmost care for other people’s homes. A fairly good networker. In my former job my visual orientation and eye for detail were fully appreciated.
My interests in Workaway exchanges lay in permaculture, building, gardening , art and culture, organising house and garden, creating ambiance and hospitality.

Being a sociaI person, I need time and space for myself as well. For you as a host this is also pleasant, it gives air! I like to take solo trips and to plan my own activities. So for Workaway exchanges I prefer accommodation which offers the possibility for privacy.
No sharing bedrooms, and preferably a private bathroom. Or even better a house or apartment with cooking facilities. I like to use meals together now and then, but certainly not all the time.

First of all: I would love to help you out!
I’m used to look beyond the tasks which need to be done. I definitely have an eye for detail and I tend to work neatly.
I have a good sense of style (colours, decorations). A cosy and warm living area can be beneficial for one’s mood.

- gardening (perennials have my interest, would like to learn more about vegetables and fruits)
- cooking
- cleaning/housework
- would like to learn more about building / restoring old buildings
