Hello!

Welcome to my profile. I have recently returned to Europe from travelling around Asia. I love the outdoors (surfing, climbing, running) and wholesome plant-based food, going on adventures, socialising and meet new people, playing music, reading and learning about the world.

I'm from the south coast of the UK, where my family home is. I graduated from an MA in Anthropology of Development, and I have a BA in History. I've also spent time working as a journalist and in events & communications.

Over the last few years I have been fortunate enough to travel to several continents. I have lived in South America for several months across several years (Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Chile, Nicaragua), and also spent time as a student in South Australia.

I have skills in communications, journalism, writing, marketing, events, creativity, hospitality - barista/bartending/receptionist work, as well as housekeeping, cross-cultural communication, surfing, yoga, video-editing, photography.

I speak intermediate-advanced Spanish and basic French. I have experience working with indigenous communities, refugees and children.

I have experience as a writer, and I run my own blog, you can find out more about me here: https://barefeetandsalt.blog/

I have experience teaching English, especially to young kids. I am also available to teach yoga and surf.

I have experience working as a receptionist; i spent three months in 2020, for example, working as the receptionist of a very busy surf lodge in Portugal which gave me a lot of skills writing emails, answering calls, managing an excel system of bookings and also checking in guests. I am very sociable and outgoing so this kind of work suits me well.

I have also spent several years working as a bartender and/or waitress at a variety of venues.

I also have translated a TV series from Spanish into English, and edited the post production colour and sound - I have experience in film as well, and can cut and put together clips (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJNTn_2Tukc).

I know how to conduct professional interviews as a result of a year spent working with a documentary filmmaker as well as a year spent studying and working as an anthropologist.

Aside from these skills, I am an excellent communicator. I absolutely love to work with people, especially to make people feel welcome in a place.

Was noch ...

I really enjoy making art whenever I can, including painting. I am generally a very clean, organised and respectful person. I have completed around 10 volunteer experiences so far, most of which have been through workaway. I really enjoy meeting new people, sharing new experiences and participating in a cultural exchange
