I'm 26, and am travelling in Europe for all of 2024.

I love the outdoors and am excited to do lots of walking in wild areas, as well as work outdoors. I'm hoping to spend most of my time on farms.

I'm passionate about protecting this precious planet we live on and learning about how we can best care for local ecosystems. For the last ten years I have been involved with Friends of the Earth as a volunteer and campaigner for environmental protection, and a this work has often involved working with farming communities.

I love cooking, reading, writing, playing and listening to music, gardening, working with people and animals, walking, swimming, and trying my hand at new things.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I adore cooking and studied it for three years at high school, including my final year where I designed a folio of recipes featuring olive oil as a core ingredient - sounds like a weird ingredient to focus on, but it taught me a lot about making the simplest combinations of ingredients taste truly gourmet! I've also volunteered in a vegetarian restaurant in Melbourne as a kitchen hand and worked in a cafe on an inner-city farm. Basically anything to do with food, I'm in! I love harvesting, preserving and preparing it and creating a ritual around eating it to honour the process involved.

I have gardening skills from the gardens I've helped grow at home and previous workaways. I am keen to learn more about growing different foods in different local climates and seasons. I have worked with animals in previous workaways (mainly goats) and have had my own chickens for a few years, so know a lot about caring for chooks.

I am confident in the general housekeeping skills needed to maintain a guesthouse. I cleaned my parents' airbnb apartment for years, and did the cleaning/turnover work at a bunkhouse in Scotland for a month-long workaway.

I work well in a team, having had experience volunteering on environmental campaigns at Friends of the Earth for ten years now. This has also given me skills in organising events, and working with others in an consensus-based decision making model.

I'm a fast learner and eager to develop new skills, so if you tell me what work is needed I should be pretty adaptable to pick it up and get to know the ropes!
