Beschreibung

I am a 29-year-old from Malta who's lived and studied in Denmark for seven years, before returning home shortly last year. I've had various jobs including working as a tutor/babysitter, a campus supervisor at an English language school, working as a scuba diving instructor, an elderly companion, a kindergarten teacher and educational researcher!

In my free time, I enjoy volunteering and have participated in various projects run by Save the Child and Red Cross as well as working in community kitchens and a local farmoury.

Given my passion for working with children, I acquired a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, including two internships varying 6 months each, where I spent one of them in a Danish nursery, and the other in a Chinese kindergarten.

The theoretical education together with the practical experience I have gained on the course have immensely contributed to my personal and professional growth.

My interest in research and improving educational systems has led me to pursue a master’s degree in Anthropology of Education and Globalisation at Aarhus University which I recently finished, specialising in alternative living and education.

By nature, I am an outgoing introvert with a goofy and playful side who loves spending time bouldering and rock climbing, learning, being around children, meeting and connecting with different people, but most important of all - living a meaningful life.

Although I come from a rather conservative and catholic family, I am not religious, but I do consider myself to be spiritual in other ways and do my best to respect others and all life on earth. I live a plant-based lifestyle and try to act sustainably, constantly learning and allowing myself to be inspired by other people!

I love learning new languages and I do my best to make teaching others fun and easy! I have had the privilege of teaching children of all ages, both from working in kindergartens and from tutoring older children between the ages of 6-15. Apart from my formal education as a kindergarten teacher, I also have a TEFL certificate qualifying me to teach English as a foreign language.

Was noch ...

Most would describe me as a calm person who loves to spend time outdoors and being active in nature. I have a farming background in my family, so I am used to being out in fields and around animals- I don't mind getting my hands dirty!

When I'm indoors I enjoy spending my time reading, cooking and catching up with my friends and family all over the world. I try to live a mindful, minimalistic lifestyle and practice slow living. Last but not least, I am passionate about learning new things, growing and keeping an open mind.
