Kia Ora!

We are Caro (20 years old) and Tobi (19 years old), a couple from Germany currently traveling through New Zealand on a working holiday visa. We are eager to share our skills and gain new ones as we explore this beautiful country. We both recently graduated from a technical school in Germany, where we gained practical knowledge that we are now looking to expand.

We have experience working with animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, cows, and horses. We also have some experience in gardening, having worked on tasks like weeding, lawn mowing, and harvesting vegetables and fruits (e.g., potato picking at our last Workaway). Additionally, we’ve helped clean and paint fences or garden sheds, and we are skilled at staining wood to preserve its quality and longevity.

We are open to new challenges and excited to learn more about other areas, such as constructing a tiny house or alternative living space (like a treehouse), or caring for herb or medicinal gardens. In addition to working with animals and in the garden, we are also happy to assist with household chores such as cleaning, organizing, or tidying up to create a more cozy and inviting living space.

Currently, we are traveling along the Arthur Pass towards Christchurch, Kaikoura, and down the Highway 7 back to Greymouth, and we are looking for opportunities to contribute and learn in various settings. We are hardworking, responsible, reliable, and always strive to leave spaces as clean or cleaner than we found them.

We're excited to connect with hosts, share our skills (and learn some new ones), and gain enriching experiences that will stay with us forever.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

At technical school we learned the basics about electrical engineering, mechanics, engines and computer science, which will definitely help us to master technical tasks more easily, but we can both still learn more. As for animals, Tobi is very good with dogs, having grown up with one. Caro is very familiar with cats, mice and horses, as she had cats and mice as pets and rode for over 7 years in her childhood and then vaulted for another 5 years. In addition, Caro worked for two months on a horse farm in Christchurch, which has 21 Icelandic horses, where she also looked after the 3 cows and 15 chickens (from time to time).
