  My name is Dada, I am Italian and I have been living in Gran Canaria for 5 years, a wonderful island, with many different microclimates, from the warm sand dunes that come from the Sahara, to the mountains where you can find freshness all year round.
  
  I have just moved to a small farm (less than 1000 square meters), in the north of the island, where the climate is usually very variable. I am setting up a vegetable garden and I have a few chickens. My lifestyle is very simple, and my project is to produce enough to live in a more sustainable way, eating the products of our garden. Of course everything will be organic and I am going to try various techniques that I learned in Italy, such as permaculture, biodynamic, regenerative agriculture, etc.
  
  My 9-year-old daughter and I live at home, as well as our dog Nubes and our cat Irma. We are strictly vegetarian, and almost vegan. In our house we take great care of some values, which I would also like to be shared with the volunteers, such as kindness in communication, respect for animals, saving water (a super valuable asset on such a small island). and energy. That's why I need to have a previous interview, before accepting a new volunteer.
  
  My main interests, in addition to everything that is ecology and organic farming, are: natural medicines (among other things I am a veterinarian), healthy vegetarian and vegan cooking, conscious parenting and emotional education, spirituality and personal growth (Nonviolent Communication and more), circular and alternative economies (G1 and other free currencies).
  
  My dream is to create an ecovillage on the island, although I am already very happy with the small supportive community that I have around me.

  Me llamo Dada, soy italiana y llevo 5 años viviendo en Gran Canaria, una isla maravillosa, con muchos microclimas diferentes, desde las cálidas dunas de arena que llega del Sahara, hasta las montañas donde encontrar frescura todo el año.
  Acabo de mudarme a una pequeña finca (menos de 1000 metros cuadrados), en el norte de la isla, donde el clima suele ser muy variable. Estoy montando una huerta y tengo unas pocas gallinas. Mi estilo de vida es muy sencillo, y mi proyecto es llegar a producir lo suficiente para vivir de forma más sostenible, comiendo los productos de nuestra huerta. Por supuesto todo será ecológico y voy a probar varias técnicas que aprendí en Italia, como permacultura, agricultura biodinámica, regenerativa, etc.
  En casa vivimos mi hija de 9 años y yo, además que nuestro perro Nubes y nuestra gata Irma.
  Somos estrictamente vegetarianas, y casi veganas.
  
  En nuestra casa cuidamos muchos algunos valores, que también me gustaría sean compartidos con l@s voluntari@s, como la amabilidad en la comunicación, el respeto para los animales, el ahorro de agua (un bien súper valioso en una isla tan pequeña) y de energía. Por eso necesito tener una entrevista previa, antes de aceptar un@ nuev@ voluntari@.
  
  Mis intereses principales, además que todo lo que es ecología y agricultura ecológica, son: medicinas naturales (entre otras cosas soy veterinaria), cocina saludable vegetariana y vegana, crianza consciente y educación emocional, espiritualidad y crecimiento personal (Comunicación NoViolenta y más), economías circulares y alternativas (G1 y otras monedas libres).
  
  Mi sueño es crear una ecoaldea en la isla, aunque ya estoy muy feliz con la pequeña comunidad solidaria que tengo a mi alrededor.

  I offer all newly arrived workaways an introductory class on NVC (Nonviolent Communication) and, if they feel like it, the chance to practice it daily.
  
  I wholeheartedly share my knowledge in natural medicines (among other things I am a veterinarian), organic farming, healthy vegetarian and vegan cooking, conscious parenting and emotional education, spirituality and personal growth (CNV and more). And in each of these areas I also like to learn from my guests, I love having interesting conversations.

  Ofrezco a tod@s l@s workaways recién llegad@s una clase introductoria de CNV (Comunicación NoViolenta) y, si les apetece, la posibilidad de practicarla a diario.
  
  Comparto con todo mi corazón mis conocimientos en medicinas naturales (entre otras cosas soy veterinaria), agricultura ecológica, cocina saludable vegetariana y vegana, crianza consciente y educación emocional, espiritualidad y crecimiento personal (CNV y más).
  Y en cada uno de estos ámbitos también me gusta aprender de mis huéspedes, me encanta tener conversaciones interesantes.

  I need help to weed, expand and manage my small garden and to improve the chicken coop and build a mobile one. Mine is not a company, but a family garden and everything we grow is for our own food. I also need to put the automatic drip irrigation in the spiral and the terraces of the garden, and since I have no experience in that, I would give preference to those who know about it.
  
  As in any country house, there can always be some masonry, plumbing and carpentry work. Work hours take place only in the morning, because due to my parenting style I have chosen to be 100% present with my daughter every afternoon and sometimes I organize activities with other girls and boys. If you like working with children and the need arises, in this case you could work in the afternoon.

  Necesito ayuda para desherbar, ampliar y gestionar mi pequeña huerta y para mejorar el gallinero y construir uno móvil. La mía no es una empresa, sino una huerta familiar y todo lo que cultivamos es para nuestra propia alimentación.
  También necesito poner el riego automático por goteo en la espiral y los bancales de la huerta, y como no tengo experiencia en eso, daría preferencia a quien sepan de ello.
  Como en toda casa de campo, siempre puede surgir algún trabajo de albañilería, fontanería y carpintería.
  Las horas de trabajo se desarrollan solo por la mañana, porque por mi estilo de crianza he elegido estar presente al 100% con mi hija todas las tardes y a veces organizo actividades con otras niñas y niños. Si te gusta trabajar con peques y surge la necesidad, en este caso podrías trabajar por la tarde.

  I offer accommodation only, without food. The volunteers will have their private space in a nice room, independent from the main house and equipped with a small kitchen. The room has no water inside, the toilet and the sink are outside. The porch and the solar are spaces that we gladly share with our guests.

  L@s voluntari@s tendrán su espacio privado en una bonita habitación, independiente de la casa principal y equipada con una pequeña cocina. La habitación no tiene agua en el interior, el baño y el fregadero son exteriores.
  El porche y el solar son espacios que compartimos con gusto con nuestros huéspedes.

  En los alrededores existen varios senderos de colina y montaña, muy bien marcados.
  Hay varias playas en unos 10 km, aptas para practicar surf, kite y otros deportes, y desde luego para recargar pilas con la energía del océano.
  
  El pueblo más cercano, la hermosa Santa María de Guía, está a apenas unos 4 km. Y en unos pocos km más se encuentran varios pueblos muy bonitos, como Gáldar y Agaete hacia el norte, y Moya, Firgas y Arucas hacia el sur.
  La capital, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, se encuentra a unos 20 km de aquí.
  
  En apenas unos cientos metros hay supermercado, cafetería y parada de autobús que pasan cada 2-3 horas solo durante el día.
  Cuando yo salga en coche, será un placer llevarles al pueblo o dar un paseo junt@s.

  In the surroundings there are several hill and mountain trails, very well marked. There are several beaches in about 10 km, suitable for surfing, kiting and other sports, and of course to recharge batteries with the energy of the ocean.
  
  The nearest town, the beautiful Santa María de Guía, is just 4 km away. And in a few more km there are several very pretty towns, such as Gáldar and Agaete to the north, and Moya, Firgas and Arucas to the south.
  The capital, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, is located about 20 km from here.
  
  In just a few hundred meters there is a supermarket, cafeteria and bus stop that runs every 2-3 hours only during the day.
  When I go out by car, it will be a pleasure to take you to town or for a walk together.
